i converted to wayland only recently
went from i3-gaps to sway
minimal configuration changes needed
and so far i can say that it was a good switch:
- multi dpi actually works on wayland, no upscaling needed and doing ridiculous resolutions like with xorg, resulting with choking gpu/bandwidth
- games run a lot better compared to x11, can easily get vsync 50fps (yes my ext monitor is 50hz) @ 3440x1440 while playing halo: the master chief collection. to do the same with xorg, i had to run game at 1280x720 (and yes, no compositor)
- recording screen does not lag out my desktop or eat cpu unnecessarily much.
wf-recorderftw - ...? idk, things just work, except some wayland native <-> x11 app clipboard stuff & rare apps which need right clicking on taskbar
also it's a lot easier on cpu/gpu, no more constant 100°C

People with such knowledge either make hypixel or some competitor, it's too complex to sit down and teach random people from scratch.
Also depends on what you mean by it.
If you just want a server with mini games, or whatever it is hypixel has, you are mostly looking at running a proxy (like Velocity) and many, stripped-down servers.

Oh, so I'm baffled and can't understand how checksums work now.
I have 3.1GB file, I did run md5sum on it and then uploaded it to another server.
I noticed it used 4GB of my bandwidth, so I checked the file size and it is 4GB on the other side. I don't know why I checked checksum, but it came out the same.
How TF does that work? Apparent size and other FS trickery, but wouldn't reading the file need to return 4GB worth of data?

Though that might be a good path. The file is qcow2 image, it originally was bigger (not sure how much bigger, could be 4GB),which I ran virt-sparsify on before transfer.
But still, comparing checksums post all that.
The only action in between is scp to another server.

As long as you can show that you make good software you should be able to get into companies that care about experience. Some companies also want theoretical CS experience, so in that case you might want to teach yourself that too (if you don't already know much about it).

Getting through the door is the hardest part IMO, you need to get comfortable with applying to jobs above your level.
They want to get someone who knows everything, but such people don't work for the price they pay. Especially interns etc.
