I've been working on updating Blaze3D to use OpenGL 3.2 core profile for almost a year. In mid-December Felix started helping me with writing shaders, improved buffer handling and a lot of bug fixing. Now the foundation is there for future improvements. It's going to be fun!

The main things we'll be looking into in the future are mostly related to performance and more flexible ways for graphical effects in the game. Switching from a 16 year old standard to one that's "only" 11 years old means we can do more work on the GPU and reduce load on the CPU.

The main reason to use this specific version of OpenGL (3.2 core profile) is that it's a good compromise between supporting older systems and improving the engine to give us better control over rendering. It's also the best choice to keep it working on older OSX systems.
