before I learned partitioning I got this book from the library about security and I installed a ton of things on the machine that it took 15 minutes to start up and be responsive lol

I then learned partitioning when my dad was trying to troubleshoot sleeping issues with Windows Vista (turns out it's actually the motherboard+graphics card that didn't play well together) and one of the steps they tried was dual booting. But Windows XP's disk management doesn't have shrink disk. So I got some rando free partitioning software online that you had to load via a boot disc

Hey! Got a quick question about if paper will work well, or not even well just average on a bit of an older system. Just for friends and a group so ~9-10 people playing survival at peak, but probably average of 1-2. I have a system with dual x5660's and 256gb memory. I know i'm fine with the amount of ram, but will the processors be okay?

It's because of garbage collection. If you give it a huge amount, java will just let garbage pile up until there is no room. Then the gc will say "HEY EVERYONE GET OUT OF HERE I GOTTA CLEAN UP THIS MESS". The whole server will freeze while the gc goes through and cleans everything up.
