we had like 300 classrooms, each with at least 1 pc in it. about 10 classroms with 30+ pcs in them (computer labs). and then however many were in the office/library/etc.

limber knotBOT

Oh, I didn't count the class room PC's

man I love the internet sometimes

does it perform better because list removals suck?

what about swap-remove?

they likely did it because they wanted to fix entity shit

and so decided "let's change this while we're at it"

idk what swap-remove is

is it just swapping it with another element

yeah the last element

tfw there's an AUR package

so no mem copying

there's smarter ways of keeping remove at 0

nice work!

static badge

fastutil does linked differently so it's not as shit as standard linked

void void
#

ah i see, so its not pointer hell

static badge
#

iirc it's an array of long[] with the long being composed of prev, next indices of elements in the backing table

void void
#

what's a good way to keep ordering while keeping removes fast? maybe leave holes and compact it periodically?

static badge
#

look at the impl of ArrayList#removeAll(Collection) or ArrayList#removeIf(Predicate)

i need to go to the store and pick up food I think

oh it just auto pulls the version from BuildData/info.json

upper flicker

yeah just hasnt been updated or anything since they originally did it

Hmm this seems really dumb. So with Google Calendar, on mobile, you can create events under a non-gmail account, but there's no actual way (from what I can see) to access that from the web.

void void

fallen oracle
#

Okay so @void void I'm about to unleash my devious plan

void void
#

What is it

fallen oracle
#

So my room looks out over a massive walk area for people to go to class and what not

void void
#

oh no

fallen oracle
#

Starting Tuesday, we're looping Baby Shark 10 hours

dapper nacelle
#

I guess sharing ram and disk speed is kinda a big deal

fallen oracle
#

out the window

void void
#

no...

#

glare you're evil

fallen oracle
#

And we're going to have shark dancing in the window

#

And we wrote out "Baby Shark" in the windows

acoustic pilot
#

Yeah, 32GB of shared hosting RAM is cheap as fuck, but it's also slow as fuck

#

Same with disk IO

#

And obviously same with CPU

void void
#

only someone who is uber retarded would come to the conclusion that newer hardware being shared between many people is better than full access to older, slower hardware

#

honestly

#

simple that would depend lol

#

in this case it really doesn't, as we're talking the kimsufi models that are scoring at least somewhat decently on passmark

dapper nacelle
#

If they run the servers on VMs they can dedicate cpu cores to those VMs so cpu shouldn't be that bad if cores are split propely

void void
#

Ah shit I was tlaking about in general lol

fallen oracle
#

So how about that storm coming in

void void
#

yea in general it's different

acoustic pilot
#

Doesn't matter how they do it, they are just trying to squeeze the most money they can out of their shared hardware.

#

This is reality, shared hosting is in it to make money.

#

You have more peace of mind with dedicated hardware.

void void
#

Yup, like I said earlier, 3 steps. It's a money making sham.

fallen oracle
#

Imagine making a shared host for shared hosts

void void
#

That's what you call a dedi setup service

fallen oracle

Fuckin ovh

"errr can u set up my dedi and install pterodactyl? and my website?"

Nobody does things to be nice, shared hosting are the bottom of the barrel of hosting because they try to capitalize on every bit of their hardware that they rent out. If your machine is idle, its CPU cycles and all other resources will be deprioritized for other customers etc.

#

At least with dedicated hardware you know exactly what you're getting.

#

With shared hosting, you really don't know anything about what you're getting, other than the "amount" of RAM, or disk space

dapper nacelle
#

So if you buy dedicated hardware you get the whole machine

#

(and before that dumbass from earlier comes back we're talking about fucking mc shared hosts not vms in general so go back to your fucking cave)

Is there a way to look at the server.pro plugin list without having a server?

void void
#

who knows

dapper nacelle
#

Its free so just create one

grizzled hearth
#

Plugin list, lmao

fallen oracle
#

The wait is like 6 hours and I have to be there for the AFK timer

grizzled hearth
#

No ftp xd

fallen oracle
#

Interesting... they have one of my plugins on their service without my permissions

void void
#

yeah server.pro is literally the worst, they go so far as to "vet the plugins you can use so that they are guaranteed quality!"

#

in other words

#

nothing too expensive on the hardware

#

nothing too big on the disk

#

etc etc etc

dapper nacelle
#

Else it won't start up

grizzled hearth
#

Things with pro on the name are always bad

dapper nacelle
#

You can upload them and reload the server so bypass it
