pulsar wigeon
#

why would spigot support paper issues

#

why would microsoft support your broken MBP

limber knotBOT
#

intellectualsites group all i know

pulsar wigeon
#

people come to us with fawe issues -> issues don't happen with worldedit -> why the fuck would we support it?

#

not that difficult to comprehend

#

jesse wrote it essentially

wide hazel
#

aside from just common sense, going to the proper developer of the proper plugin..

pulsar wigeon
#

it's currently "maintained" by IS people

wide hazel
#

I haven't had issues with FAWE, and it's damned fast

pulsar wigeon
#

quotes because it's a fucking mess atm lol

celest coyote
#

Thats too logical egg

#

You cant expect people to do that

wide hazel
#

least I don't πŸ˜›

limber knotBOT
#

ill only use fawe if i 1) already have backups 2) need to make literally huge edits

#

and even then, only temporary

wide hazel
#

FAWE also has a longer history by default, which helps

celest coyote
#

Bad idea

#

Cause ir might make an error and you would never know

#

If its a small edit you can manually verify

wide hazel
#

I mean, between RGA and Doni there have been so many world edits on so many blocks over the years on Performium

#

and FAWE hasn't corrupted anything yet

limber knotBOT
#

yet

wide hazel
#

sometimes they make damned massive edits

celest coyote
#

One day...

wide hazel
#

so if you're looking at stability, I'd consider FAWE stable. They WE shit multiple times per day, and sometimes millions of blocks

#

not once has it corrupted anything

pulsar wigeon
#

that's great for you

#

but doesn't actually prove anything

limber knotBOT
#

hheeyyyy i wrote a patch that doesn't have grammatical errors and stuff

static badge
#

there's this thing called scale

limber knotBOT
#

niiiicceeee

wide hazel
#

12 entirely different servers on 5 different machines on 3 different OSes

static badge
#

the chances that sure a single instance wont blow up could be low

pulsar wigeon
#

pretty sure that line of thought is some logical fallacy

static badge
#

yes it is

#

it's called being retarded

celest coyote
#

Time to pull out statistics

wide hazel
#

it's not empirical testing, but over the course of several years with multiple edits per day on different machines with different hardware, software, and OSes..

#

it's pretty solid

static badge
#

but then once you get more instances that chance just goes up

pulsar wigeon
#

egg

static badge
#

and it will vary based on what you do with it

pulsar wigeon
#

you're actually being completely fucking retarded atm

#

holy shit i can't even comprehend it

static badge
#

and you've not gone through any of that logic have ya :>

wide hazel
#

I mean

pulsar wigeon
#

you realize that your experiences literally have no impact on other people's right?

wide hazel
#

you could say the same for all the other testing I've done

pulsar wigeon
#

just because you're never had issues doesn't mean no one else never has

#

do you not understand that?

#

is that really fucking hard for you to comprehend?

wide hazel
#

the difference is, in this case, other people can't reproduce the Performium network

celest coyote
#

🍿

static badge
#

meanwhile

wide hazel
#

but yeah, I never said it was empirical evidence

static badge
#

Optional<Boolean>

wide hazel
#

I was giving anecdotal experience

pulsar wigeon
#

leaf we've gone over this before

static badge
#

wiz

#

are you going to defend optionals

#

come at me bro

pulsar wigeon
#

oh

#

we went over it because of egg

#

no wonder

#

no leaf it's works for him

wide hazel
#

alrighty, when you're done with your strawman over there we can discuss FAWE more

pulsar wigeon
#

it's clearly good

#

there's nothing to discuss

golden gust
#

Optional<Optional<Optional<Optional<Optional<SpongeOptional<T>>>>>>

wide hazel
#

clearly the best route

#

needs more wrappers

#

more Sponge is required

static badge
#

does sponge have its own optional

#

please tell me it doesn't

wide hazel
#

can't imagine it would

golden gust
#

No, stolen joke πŸ˜›

wide hazel
#

anyway, yeah, presenting anecdotal experience here but over several years of using FAWE with multiple edits per day across 12 different servers on 5 different boxes using 3 different OSes, FAWE hasn't once caused corruption

#

so

#

there's that

golden gust
#

fawe has been proven to cause issues

#

Vanilla has also been proven to cause such issues

#

It's all fun \o/

wide hazel
#

don't ask about the OSes- it was nightmares

static badge
#

ur evidence blows fat dick

unreal quarry
#

someone, somewhere, had their server crash on startup from FAWE and corrupt everything. so theres that

#

runs

wide hazel
#

Β―_(ツ)_/Β―

limber knotBOT
#

on my server we choose to not use FAWE because of the sheer amount of worldedits we do and how the more often you edit, the more often there is a chance for something to messup

#

its hard to contextualized just how many edits we do

wide hazel
#

I'm sure, but Perf has yet to run into that

#

maybe one day it will

#

maybe

limber knotBOT
#

but, we average about ~80gb/m of changes on our coreprotect blocks table

#

month, not minute

wide hazel
#

from my own experience, the chances seem very low

limber knotBOT
#

they likely are

#

but the fact that its there at all is oof

upper flicker
#

I've gotten enough reports from people just using Paper that I can't recommend it

limber knotBOT
#

cant recommend fawe ye?

upper flicker
#

Use whatever, just don't ask me to tell you it's a good idea

pulsar wigeon
#

^

golden gust
#

^

pulsar wigeon
#

i mean that's also our stance

wide hazel
#

mm, fair. I personally don't understand how that happens because I've never seen it

#

maybe it's a conflict?

#

bad hardware?

pulsar wigeon
#

we don't stop people from using it

wide hazel
#

Perf runs on OVH

pulsar wigeon
#

but we won't support them and won't tell them to for sure

#

it's their server

#

they can fuck up whatever

wide hazel
#

yeah, running without backups period is dumb

pulsar wigeon
#

most server owners are dumb

#

did you forget that

limber knotBOT
#

speaking of, what are yalls backups like?

wide hazel
#

I've just personally never seen FAWE corrupt anything by itself is all, so I don't see where the instability reports are coming from

pulsar wigeon
#

you don't see it because you're not fucking supporting it

#

you dipshit

#

no one reports them to you

static badge
#

my backups are my world seed

pulsar wigeon
#

because you're not the plugin dev, server dev, etc

static badge
#

if shit blows up am delete world

#

it is just a test server after all :>

pulsar wigeon
#

holy fuck egg your logic today is actually beyond retarded

upper flicker
#

That's some low quality bait leaf

limber knotBOT
#

we sync the map/sql daily to backblaze and the server folder itself to backblaze every month

static badge
#

I can turn it from low quality bait into high-key bragging if you want

#

here

#

and I can control-c it all day thx to my regionfile patch

#

no backups required :>

true canyon
wide hazel

#

is there a discord bot in here, and is it open source? my idea was NOT to cancel the message update event in here, but to listen for it and just send the updated message to IRC so IRC isn't left out on updates

#

would be interesting in the least

merry talon

the only bot in here is the bridge so yes

but what you want is super easy

#

you just have to convince someone to let it in

the bridge is just webhooks isn't it?

Does anyone know what's wrong with this Iptables config?

I am not particularly strong with networking, but something here (or rather, something not here), prevents me from pinging the mojang API in any reasonable amount of time.

quick gust
#

Take #2 boys here we go

astral knot

lol. On the positive side, we have at least determined that something about this iptables config is the problem

quick gust
#

what is your problem this time

#

ping times are high?

#

or http request?

astral knot
#

Same as last time; I just wasn't able to fix it.

When my default INPUT policy is ALLOW, I can time curl https://api.mojang.com/users/profiles/minecraft/InteriorCamping in 100 ms.
When my default INPUT policy is DROP, that curl takes 5s.

Therefore, the problem is this iptable

void void
#

you probably need to add rules to not drop local teraffic.

iptables -A INPUT -i lo -p all -j ACCEPT
iptables -A INPUT -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT

Anyone have an idea as to why a mic might be working in things such as league or skype or whatever, but not Discord? My voice cuts out after a few seconds. It still looks like sound is going through but no one can hear.

uPnp? ports? I turned off upnp on one of the ends of a two way voice chat in STEAM and it stopped the other party from hearing me, turned it back on, and it worked again.

I didn't really chance anything recently that could've caused this.

#

Doubt it's a port issue cause wouldn't that stop all voice altogether? I can also hear others.

peak kite

punch a port through for your app.?

fallen oracle

For Discord?

peak kite
#

Oh, i don't know then, i have yet to do voice here.

#

443 (TCP) for text chat, and a range from 50000-65535 (UDP) for voice. hehe, can't really open 15,535 that many ports, from an app that lets 3rd party acquire private delted chats? lolz

fallen oracle
#

I might just try reinstalling Discord. It shouldn't be a port issue cause it would be the same port in an active voice call.

I highly doubt its a port issue lol

Ubiquiti is great, but goodness gracious, it's domains are atrocious.

it's like having a .io domain

Electronic, what file formats does that find?

#

Just folders?

golden gust
#

Oh, miiight need to add a wildcard onto that

#

Don't recall if it does partial matches, I often also tend to be super lazy remembering the commands and just pipe find through grep πŸ‘Ό

It's not getting quite everything for me.

#

Like find . -iname malwarebytes is just showing a bunch of "Operation not permitted" but nothing else, even though I clearly have it in my applications.

#

And my application support, too.

"Operation not permitted"

#

That's a perm thing

#

Either that or you have some weird macOS version

austere ivy
#

Sudo still is showing operation not permitted.
