Yeah. Be prepared to fail though. Hollow knight is a very complex game. For a neural network to learn everything will take years of simulating. Maybe train it by playing yourself? Write a mod that serialises inputs and the states of the player and enemies at that point and let the neural network learn from that.

It is in the pins of #archived-modding-development

It will separate each image into a series of folders ordered by what animation they are for all in the correct order. You can then use Sprite Packer (also in the pins of that channel) to put them back together into an atlas file. There is a guide for Sprite Packer in #modding-discussion when you get that far.

I presume that making a custom skin just involves editing the sprite images and matching them to the exact same name for a PNG such as Knight.png?

Essentially yes, but you can use Go Dump and Sprite Packer to make it easier.

Go Dump will give you individual pngs for each frame of an animation, sorted in order for each of them.

Sprite Packer then puts them back as they should be in the atlas files.

You might be thinking about some of the other mods fireborn may have been using - if he had a display on stream showing his items, that would be RandomizerTracker and it's really just for streaming (it doesn't show up in game); if he had bubbles popping up when he collected certain items like grubs and relics that'd be BingoUI; and if he had icons on the map showing where the checks were located that would be RandoMapMod

Also check the pins of it, you have ver 1.5 of hk which has a bunch of different mods from 1.4

Has a bunch of the same stuff, but some stuff is missing

There’s a mod installer for 1.5, but if you want to mod 1.4 there’s instructions in the pins of #archived-modding-help for downpatching

Download satchel and cut custom Knight from the scarab app
Download one of the skins, again from the pins in that channel
Put it into the custom Knight skins folder you now have. (type ?saves in this channel and look for your game files once you reach this step)

You get to make custom trials

Like... you as an individual. You could download the mod and make a trial.
