Here's Pale Hornet! I changed the Hornet Sentinel boss room to have a lot of stuff from The White Palace
It's my first modded thing so I don't guarantee it's that good
@haughty grove Gave it a go and beat it on attuned. It might be better to change the room slightly to have both sides open but the saw moving across the entire floor (maybe a bit slower). It is beatable in its current form but it's a bit annoying if you get bad RNG with spike balls or Hornet's thread shield as you don't have much room to avoid attacks. Pogoing Hornet and the right saw blade seemed to work best with shade dashing when dived/jumped to thread shield.

It's a good idea though - making the room smaller with having to deal with the saws is a good idea. But with its current form staying on the left is the safest with only needing to move for thread shield. Still fun though. Best of luck with it!

Not a lot bad about it except the yellow paint attack is very hard to dodge

i was more concerned about the purple attack falling on you

as for the yellow attack, you have to rely on the sound cue. he has a specific sound cue he only uses for that attack and the purple one i think. it lets you know its coming and you can jump -> shade cloak to get through

I don't know what you're talking about, but I think the sawblades are a little much, once or twice I was knocked into them trying to dodge the purple attack's slam part

because without them sheo just gets bullied, right now they give him a safe spot

yeah it's not meant to be insanely difficult
it just reduces your options a bit, compared to the regular fight where you can do pretty much anything you want
the pink attack is basically negated though

I'm not sure, personally. You don't want it to look empty but with darkness it might not give enough time to react. It's current form is good, it just feels that you can ignore a good bit of his attacks.

the problem was if you stood under them it put you into a 50/50 for getting hit afterwards, but with the new strat i can give it a shot

there's just not that many way to design them if they can't overlap. This leaves saws as the best way to block the player - for now

there were two issues with it, the problem is they combined into what I'm pretty sure is an undodgeable attack
You can only see the purple goop falling on the right and left sides, not in the middle because there's a color fill in
which is fine, just go to the sides when he does the purple attack
but if you're not in the middle, he can decide to position himself in a way that if you dash through him, you have to run under the middle part before the pink attack ends, if you dash away you go into the saw, and if you dash towards him and time it, you run into him
the only solution i could think of was like dash master and downwards dash

i actually took away spells on that map, because they would make it really easy
But as long as you see where one blob drops you can kind of gauge safe spots. It's not foolproof if you have to move.
and also nailmaster, no spells, kinda fits
Ah, that will definitely boost the challenge.
I mean it's not super challenging. I think on the first one the radiant took a dozen minutes
and on the new one, which is the screenshot you saw but a bit easier, it also took about ten minutes
Maybe, but simply because something isn't super challenging doesn't mean it can't be a lot of fun. I think Tribe of Battle and Inferno King Grimm are really fun boss mods even if they aren't the hardest ones.

oh, right. big downside to this one is that he can get stuck if he jumps towards you at the start. it's easy to circumvent but it kind of feels bad that it's there. Not sure i can fix it either, I have no idea what causes it.

it's only if his first move is a jump, and he'll never jump if you move next to him at the start, but eh

You can only use mods on the Steam or Good Old Games versions of Hollow Knight.

Addendum: at the beginning of the fight, make sure to walk towards Sheo, otherwise he'll get glitched until you stagger him.

Normal sheo is in a dark room, but his pink rain is completely removed. The saws are slightly bigger.
Hard Sheo is not in a dark room, but there is pink rain. The location of the droplets is obscured on most of the screen, so you have to move to either extremity of the arena to dodge them.
Even the hard one shouldn't be hard on attuned, I rated their difficulty based on the radiant fights.

and downwards shade dash when the attack happens

I tested it just now with mmc, ended the fight touching the conveyor and i woke up just fine
Also, for anyone using the decoration master mod. The background crystal you can add but not remove as far as I'm aware. I had to delete the map to get it to go away. Hitting it with the edit menu open, whether it be with spell or nail, just got it to break.
can you make a wall and then crystal cling to it just to test it?
noclip might be the reason you're moving during the "cutscene" transition between the fight and waking up

basically, I made a low ceiling so that sheo would bonk his head
the result is that he still jumps the same horizontal distance, but he does it way faster
He doesn't do the red paint attack if he has a ceiling
unless it's the first attack he does, in which case he tries and it glitches him for the first phase

There's something similar in the sheo fight, where getting hit into the saw may respawn you inside sheo with no i-frames, totalling 4 damage from 1 hit

You might be triggering a different hazard respawn point by running into the thorns at different places

Something really easy would be a spike floor, but that's kind of boring

and so you have to alternate between being in the air and on the ground
and if you want to control the timing of the lasers, you can use the disappearing platforms and put them in front of the lasers
And if you let the lasers last their full duration, the player has to full jump full double jump dash to avoid them

so it's pretty fun

my idea to make this harder was to add like sporgs or crawlers inside the lever holes

Few days ago I installed a mod it was perfectly fine and BAAM. Game crashed. I reopened the game after the crash and what I experienced was horrible lag. Laggy menu etc

enemy randomizer

I was thinking about making a second playable character, even if it would be hard af
that would be cool
The idea would be that you'd play a character with two nails, who regenerates hp by attacking
He would be a character who constantly wants to be in the think of it and is rewarded for smart movement and exploiting weak points
it's hard to live up to legends of the past
i don't know what that means
basically he plays correctly
i got that I just don't get what in the thick of things means in this context
like... wouldn't that just refer to being in a boss fight?
You could play passively, or shoot spells or whatever
I just like smacking stuff with the nail and being all up in the bosses' grill
So the character I idead up would be all about that
