On top of that mod I don't feel like adding many other's to not change the game's balance and progression

How it works

HKMP puts a copy of each player into each other players world.
Enemies have separate health and will usually be in different places; Items/abilities must be collected separately; and Breakable objects must be broken by each player. Modding and Achievements

• Mods do not normally prevent you from getting Achievements.

• Use Lumafly (it has additional support for this version that other installers currently don't have)

• Right-Click the Lumafly.exe and select "Run as Administrator"

Looks like something that happens when you place a bench in an illegal area (such as a dream area), but there are other triggers for this too. You can try to fix it with the method described in the benchwarp section of the Pale Court tag (even if you didn't use Pale Court, that's just a relatively common mistake people using this mod make)

Starting Pale Court

• Install it using Lumafly
• You must have ||All dreamers||
• You must have ||defeated a specific boss:|| ||White Defender||
• You must then find the location that connects each Knight to the world. You can watch the Launch Trailer if you want directions where to go.

Known problems with Pale Court

• HKTool and WeaverCore are not compatible with Pale Court (or each other)
• AdditionalMaps, Extra MenuBackgrounds, EssenceAlways (and any mod that attempts to force Essence drops) aren't compatible, and will prevent you from being able to enter fights.
• Using a BenchWarp Deployed Bench in new areas will break the file
  • If you accidentally do this, then close the game, disable Benchwarp, then open the file again. Get off the bench you spawn at, and sit down again. Then save+quit, and you should be able to enable Benchwarp again.
  • Alternatively, you can open your user#.modded.json for that file, and edit "atDeployedBench": true, -> "atDeployedBench": false, . You can type ?tag savefaq for more information.
• HK Vocalized may prevent you from accessing fights
  • (This appears to not be consistently reproducible, but if you can't enter fights, then try disabling it)
• Skill Upgrades will prevent Charms from working correctly
• Hollow Point will not work if Pale Court is installed
• Any mod that adds new Charms may prevent Charms from working.

If you're having other issues, then please read #1090079233520451714 and create a #1057825333841240104 post with the requested info and any details. Be aware that Pale Court was not designed to be compatible with other mods, and you will usually need to choose between using either Pale Court or the other mod(s).

Hollow Knight Crashes upon opening after installing mods ⚠️

This error can happen for several reasons. Read through all of the common ones below to see which might apply to you.

• "Hollow Knight isn't responding"
  • This isn't actually a crash, you just need to wait and let the game load. This is common with mods that have a lot of Pre-loading (like Pale Court, Enemy Randomizer, WeaverCore, and mods that load a lot of skins/audio).
• Your game patch doesn't match your installer
  • Modding is now done on patch 1.5.78+, required by all current installers. If you're on Steam, make sure your Beta is set to "None"
  • "Mod Installer" (Zote) and Mod Installer 2 work with version 1.4.3.2, and should no longer be used. Tutorials saying to use these are outdated.
  • There aren't installers for other patches, like 1.2.2.1. For speedrunning mod help, type ?tag 1221 into chat for more info.
• Something didn't install correctly
  • Right-Click the installer, and select "Run as Administrator"
  • Ensure that the installer isn’t in a .zip file (if you got it as a .zip, you'll need to Extract it)
  • Make sure that the Installer is out of your Downloads folder
• You're on Linux/Steamdeck
  • Add -force-opengl to the steam launch options.
• Your game is cracked/pirated
  • Piracy is not supported in most communities for games, and discussing it is against Discord Community Guidelines. Mods aren't considered compatible with pirated copies, which will not get support in the main servers.
  • Modding is only supported on the official computer versions from Steam/GoG/Xbox Games.
  • If you do not have a supported version, please get one and you will get support with modding. Requesting help with unsupported versions may result in moderation action.

I've updated scarab and it has the right directory for my hollow knight installation (it's through steam, if that matters)

The Modding API should be enabled. I don't recall where that toggle is in Scarab, but general recommendation is to use Lumafly as installer, which has the toggling between vanilla/modded displayed in a far more intuitive way

Tbf unless you do Proficient + Difficult, Rando will expect you to be quite well geared (at least Nail 2, shade cloak, dive and I think at least one more damaging spell). Of course it's not full gear buuut well, things really spiral out of control with modded bosses very quickly

One thing you can do is editing your save to go over the maximum amount of masks, since 1 additional mask = 1 %. That will be obvious in game and on the main menu though

• If the Skin List is covering up other mods, you can toggle it with Del. You can edit this Keybind in the Custom Knight menu.

But if your question is, "can I install mods while hollow knight is open" the answer is absolutely not it will not work, the game needs to be closed for you to be able to install mods

Also in general if you have programs that your pc says are running while you can’t see them, a good way to close that phantom program is to use task manager, or just reboot your PC

mod that makes bad charms good by nerfing the base knight so the charm's effect is better, with minimal changes to the actual charm.

make the knockback enemies get on nail hits almost negligible so heavy blow is better

make the knight start with 3 masks and 2 lifeblood (which refills at benchs), and further masks alternate between giving another normal mask and another lifeblood. Then both joni's and grubberflies elegy would be better, and you could make hiveblood able to heal the base lifeblood masks.
make walking speed slower so sprintmaster is better
reduce invulnerability from getting hit so stalwart shell is better
just straight up reduce spell and nail damage so the summons are better.

How it works

Starting Pale Court

• Install it using Lumafly
• You must have ||All dreamers||
• You must have ||defeated a specific boss:|| ||White Defender||
• You must then find the location that connects each Knight to the world. You can watch the Launch Trailer if you want directions where to go.

Known problems with Pale Court

• HKTool and WeaverCore are not compatible with Pale Court (or each other)
• AdditionalMaps, Extra MenuBackgrounds, EssenceAlways (and any mod that attempts to force Essence drops) aren't compatible, and will prevent you from being able to enter fights.
• Using a BenchWarp Deployed Bench in new areas will break the file
  • If you accidentally do this, then close the game, disable Benchwarp, then open the file again. Get off the bench you spawn at, and sit down again. Then save+quit, and you should be able to enable Benchwarp again.
  • Alternatively, you can open your user#.modded.json for that file, and edit "atDeployedBench": true, -> "atDeployedBench": false, . You can type ?tag savefaq for more information.
• HK Vocalized may prevent you from accessing fights
  • (This appears to not be consistently reproducible, but if you can't enter fights, then try disabling it)
• Skill Upgrades will prevent Charms from working correctly
• Hollow Point will not work if Pale Court is installed
• Any mod that adds new Charms may prevent Charms from working.

If you're having other issues, then please read #1090079233520451714 and create a #1057825333841240104 post with the requested info and any details. Be aware that Pale Court was not designed to be compatible with other mods, and you will usually need to choose between using either Pale Court or the other mod(s).

1. will game break if ill deinstall mode when using somth of new charms

2. if i like win 2 bosses and will get 2 charms or defender charm upg+another charm, then deinstall mod, then play in same slot and then install pale court

1. You should unequip modded charms before uninstalling the mods that add them, otherwise you might get charm notches used by nothing
2. As long as you don't delete the save where your progress is, you can safely uninstall mods, everything will be saved

If you're connecting / disconnecting frequently, then you probably have a bad connection to the public server.
