I've fought Dryya several times but I keep running into a problem. No, the issue isn't getting into the fight, but rather finishing. I keep fighting Dryya over and over, and I keep getting her to her final phase.. but after attacking her enough, she gets knocked down. However, a completely intangible clone continues to fight me, the fight doesn't end, and I get killed by the invincible Dryya. Can anyone offer help for this?

Verify that you are using the correct installer and patch!

  • For normal modding you should use a current patch installer (such as Lumafly or Scarab) and you must have Steam Betas set to "None"
    • Pirated hollowpirate copies / Unofficial ports are not supported
  • Modding on 1.4.3.2 using "Mod Installer" / "Mod Installer 2" is no longer supported.
  • 1.2.2.1 Modding does not have an installer.
    • You can type ?tag 1221 for info on it.

Ngl I have no idea what your issue is but I donā€™t think pale court is the main problem, itā€™s the first time im hearing about something going wrong when disabling with charms equipped, itā€™s probably an interaction between it and the charm preset mod

hey I just started the game yesterday, for now i really like it but i truly hate the 25kms away bench respawn feature (like a lot of people as i saw) so i looked for a "respawn nearby" mod on scarab but i couldnt find any other than "HollowKnight.NoWalkOfShame" that's on github so i was wondering if it is safe or not

I'm watching a friend play Hollow Knight right now and he's fairly arachnophobic. He's managing to power through it for his vanilla playthrough, but he's very interested in getting into rando when he finishes (he does a lot of other randos). Reset CustomKnight Creator Memory
This should fix errors that prevent the program from opening.

  • Press the WindowsKey + R at the same to time to bring up the "Run" window, then enter %appdata%\..\..\CustomKnight Creator and press Enter.
  • Delete the savestate.json file.

ok so hopefully it is my last question -> it seems the mod is installed just fine as it shows on top left corner, however it doesn't appear in mod list (which could be normal for all i know) and i can't access the debug menu in game either (F1 key not working nor fn F1). Any idea ?

The fact that it doesn't appear in the mods menu is normal. You can try to manually change the keybind to open the in-game menu in its global settings file. That file is located in your saves folder, I can't check its exact name right now but should be something like Debug.1221.GlobalSettings.json

Starting Pale Court

  • Install it using Lumafly
  • You must have ||All dreamers||
  • You must have ||defeated a specific boss:|| ||White Defender||
  • You must then find the location that connects each Knight to the world. You can watch the Launch Trailer if you want directions where to go.

Known problems with Pale Court

  • MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE LATEST UPDATED VERSION
  • AdditionalMaps, Randomizer 4, Extra MenuBackgrounds, EssenceAlways (and any mod that attempts to force Essence drops) aren't compatible, and will prevent you from being able to enter fights.
  • Using a BenchWarp Deployed Bench in new areas will break the file
    • If you accidentally do this, then close the game, disable Benchwarp, then open the file again. Get off the bench you spawn at, and sit down again. Then save+quit, and you should be able to enable Benchwarp again.
    • Alternatively, you can open your user#.modded.json for that file, and edit "atDeployedBench": true, -> "atDeployedBench": false, . You can type ?tag savefaq for more information.
  • HK Vocalized may prevent you from accessing fights
    • (This appears to not be consistently reproducible, but if you can't enter fights, then try disabling it)
  • Skill Upgrades will prevent Charms from working correctly
  • Hollow Point will not work if Pale Court is installed
  • Any mod that adds new Charms may prevent Charms from working.

If you're having other issues, then please read #1090079233520451714 and create a #1057825333841240104 post with the requested info and any details. Be aware that Pale Court was not designed to be compatible with other mods, and you will usually need to choose between using either Pale Court or the other mod(s).

You'll find a tutorial for normal skins and hp bar skins in the video tutorial (and Colette's list if you weren't already using it) in the message above, but again the folder structure of the non-simplified version is for an older version of the game

Not sure how using skins was back then since I hadn't started modding yet, but it looks like you're given a CustomKnight.dll and even a modding api (probably for 1432, given the folder structure) with the original version

I think the original also has some asset swaps because that was the only way at the time to change anything other than the knight sprites? I used it back in the day as well (and you can use it with current CK if you know what you're doing & find the right files) but it's been years

    • If you want to prevent them, you can use the Disable Achievements mod.
    • If a mod changes/removes something that's part of an achievement trigger, then you won't get that achievement.

  • In some rare cases, players report not getting achievements when modding. While this is not normal, it should be mentioned that it can happen.

im having a weird glitch that i cant attack in a new save file until i rebind my controls? it gives me the attack prompt, using my mouse, and it just doesnt do anything until i go into my keyboard controls and replace left click with anything. its not a mouse issue because i can replace it back again with left click and it works fine, and my left click is working fine otherwise. i just downpatched to 1.2.2.1 so maybe its something to do with that? (i was told to post this in this channel because people know more about this here? i dont know)

Mouse binds are not that common so I'm not surprised it's not pinned but you can just ask in that server's tech support channel if there's an updated version. I haven't heard of purple but I know there's turquoise which I think includes side mouse buttons

Modding "Xbox Games" versions (Gamepass / Microsoft's App Store):

Note: this is for Desktop/Laptop. You cannot mod the game on Xbox consoles

  • Use Lumafly (it has additional support for this version that other installers currently don't have)
  • Right-Click the Lumafly.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
    • It should automatically find the install and ask if it's correct. If it doesn't find it, then you will need to link it to the Hollow Knight.exe found in C:\XboxGames\Hollow Knight\Content by default.
  • After installing / installing any mods, wait about a minute before launching the game (this is because Windows does a weird thing for Xbox Games things, and it makes copies of files)
    If you have further issues, then please see #1090079233520451714 and create a #1057825333841240104 post if needed.

HKMP (Hollow Knight Multiplayer)

How it works

HKMP puts a copy of each player into each other players world.
Enemies have separate health and will usually be in different places; Items/abilities must be collected separately; and Breakable objects must be broken by each player. Player attacks happen in each player's world, damaging any enemies/players it comes in contact with. A player is only hurt by the enemies in their own world. Using a BenchWarp Deployed Bench in new areas will break the file
If you accidentally do this, then close the game, disable Benchwarp, then open the file again. Get off the bench you spawn at, and sit down again. Then save+quit, and you should be able to enable Benchwarp again.
Alternatively, you can open your user#.modded.json for that file, and edit "atDeployedBench": true, -> "atDeployedBench": false, . You can type ?tag savefaq for more information.

How it works

HKMP puts a copy of each player into each other players world.
Enemies have separate health and will usually be in different places; Items/abilities must be collected separately; and Breakable objects must be broken by each player.
