What are some good content mods? Looking for something that completely overhauls charms and adds/changes how some enemies work.

I'll copy and paste this message from a day or two ago:

• Pail Curt (adds Additional Content)
• Test of Teamwork (adds a second, harder, PoP area)
• Lost Artifacts (adds a new series of findable items similar to Charms)
• Transcendence (adds a new series of hidden Charms
• Loremaster (Adds a lot of abilities, related to lore/dialogue)
• Skill Upgrades (Optionally modifies your skills/spells; more fun when playing Rando imo)
• The Glimmering Realm (A "second quest" that makes the existing assets of the game feel like a new game area)

Additional note: Charm Crab is apparently a "game overhaul" mod, that modifies a lot of things in the game (I know it modifies charms, but I think it tweaks a few other things as well). It's meant to give a new experience to a fresh playthrough, but it notably conflicts with most mods other than plain Rando.

I would also suggest GodSoul, which makes each "region" of the game have a different effect to be harder. Notably, GodSoul can also be buggy when used with some other mods.

if you have problem with memory usage, you can try the Graphic Options mod on scarab and set Async Upload Buffer Size in the options to anything under the default of 4.

Hi all, does anyone know of a "daughters of ash" (mod for dark souls) type mod for hollow knight? Its basically a mod that completely reworks the order in which you explore the world and reshuffles items/enemies accordingly (but still in a lore-sensitive way). Alternatively, I'm also looking for any significant content mods that are good. Haven't found too much just looking around. Thanks!

After installing, in order to actually use the mod
When the mod is correctly installed, you should see it at the top-left of your main menu, with the other mods you have installed.

If there is also some larger text that says "Load Enemy Randomizer", then press that button to randomize the enemies using the default settings (Note: you will need to wait a few minutes while this loads). If the button is not there, then go into Options > Mods, and Disable the mod, and then re-enable it. You will also need to close the game entirely, and re-open it.

When the mod is correctly installed, you should see it at the top-left of your main menu, with the other mods you have installed.

If the button is not there, then go into Options > Mods, and Disable the mod, and then re-enable it. You will also need to close the game entirely, and re-open it.

Scarab.exe vanishes after I start it! And/or Scarab is blank!
This happens when you have antimalware software that falsely flags Scarab as being malicious. To fix it, you will need to make an exception in that program for Scarab and/or Scarab's folder.

The reason I expanded was that the type of modding I was referring to for indie games was just fundamentally different to mods that change skills, weapons, movements ect. 🔸 Why do skins take so long to make/Why is making skins so difficult?
Making a skin involves redrawing every sprite relevant to the skin - at the very least, all the sprites that feature the Knight. That, alone, is over 500 sprites. More detailed skins, editing spells and HUDs can go up to over 850 sprites. All of these sometimes needs to be redrawn over and over. Depending on the complexity of the design, making a skin can take well over months of work to complete.

🔹 Where can I commission a skin, and how much would it cost?
You can ask in #art-discussion on this server, on in #recruit in the modding server linked in the pinned messages of #modding-discussion.
The price varies with the skin's complexity, but a simple one consisting only of the Knight's basic spritesheets will cost upwards of 100 USD and Euros/90 GBP, if only because of the sheer amount of time that needs to be spent on it. More complex skins and ones of higher quality would increase in cost.

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
