GPath: Use of VS in combat, Against a boss, new areas, Journal, The dash, dash platforming.
FWastes: Pogo(if not learned already), Wall jump, dash platforming but for real, Multiple progression routes.

Each individual area has its own lore, theme, music, charm, and enemy types.
The game is simple at the start, it is not lackluster or necessarily empty.
