Why Hornet is alive in Sealed Siblings:

• The dreamers have to be alive to create their seals, so having Hornet's seal appear on the door to the Black Egg means she's still alive.
• Hornet says the Black Egg Temple's bindings would drain her, she never explicitly says it would kill her.

How Hornet can escape in Sealed Siblings:

• The dreamers that created the original seals went through different preparations and procedures, meaning there'd be methods to keep them from waking up. Hornet is forced into her role by the Black Egg, meaning she could potentially wake up.
• The cult from Pharloom has seal breaking butterflies that break the seal on Hornet's cage. We don't know how powerful the seal on the cage was, or how powerful the butterflies are, meaning the cult could potentially open the Black Egg via that method.
