The idea of lace being infantilized is a bit strange as to why it's become so popular, when her story primarily depicts her being massively neglected, left to her own devices and tasked to violently cull the pilgrims. This reading of the story also neccesitates the character of hornet, someone who is repeatedly shown to be sympathetic and insightful of laces situation, to also be a major ableist who spends the whole game all the way to the ending constantly infantilizing a disabled adult. Personally i think its strange that one of the most popular headcanons reframes the protagonist in the true ending thats supposed to be hopeful and positive as someone whos abusing lace in the same way as grand mother silk. The essay even brings this up saying hornet continues to perpetuate the infantilization. Its a very strange take.

While I feel like Groal as a boss is overall overhated, one thing I truly despise about him is his contact damage. Between his somewhat erratic flight patterns and the potential to just dive with minimal time to react, it’s overly punishing to aggressive play in a way that isn’t fun. In general I wish contact damage was handled differently, but that holds especially true for Groal.
