Silksong feels more like an evolved version of Hollow Knight rather than a completely different game.
A lot of the bosses and charms follow the same DNA, just more refined.
For example:
Lace = Hornet
First Sinner = Pure Vessel
Mother Silk = Radiance
Trobbio = Grimm
It feels like the game is building on Hollow Knight’s foundation instead of trying too hard to reinvent itself and that’s not a bad thing.
