I think there are some very good locations still in HK, but I remember more of Pharloom's.

The main ones I remember and liked the most from HK are Forgotten Crossroads, Greenpath, Kingdom's Edge, White Palace, Deepnest, and City of Tears. I don't really think about places like Queen's Gardens or the rest that much.

and from greymoor most people are gonna go
bellhart, shellword, blasted steps citadel and only then does the game open up for you to explore anything OR
greymoor, sinner's road, find a stupidly hidden wall and completel one of the most annoying areas and then citadel. Very veyr few people are gonna find this on a first playthrough

ON top of that there is a literal marking telling you to go to blasted steps entrance constantly as well

I would also say that some boss arenas were just atrotious, like the Seth one. Imo it's the most spoiled boss in the entirety of the game specifically because of the arena, cause it's so huge and you can literally run away from any of his attacks, that's why to me on my first plathrough he felt like nothing at all, I didn't even enjoy fighting him, and now, when I purposely stay close to him and try to deal as much damage as possible it's become more fun. It's sad that the arena itself doesn't encourage you to play that way, I completely missed the point of the boss, and now it's one of my favorites

I think Deepnest may be more intriguing on a first playthrough but Bilewater was more fun for me on repeats, I think Deepnest ends up feeling less like a maze and more like a switchback queue even on only your second time through, although I don't know how much I can give weight to that opinion when I'm fairly familiar with Hallownest even if not immediately in the moment.
