Bit of an odd question: Does the Mac version of Modinstaller 2 work with the GOG version? Every time I try opening it, I just get an error saying "ModInstaller quit unexpectedly" (it's not the "unauthorized app" thing, it just immediately crashes before I can do anything).

Does anyone know this problem where if I pause the game I can somehow make the settings text go away but then this remains and the game stays paused. I've only fixed it by fully restarting the game. But if anyone knows either a better way to fix it when I haven't saved recently or a way to avoid it would be appreciated?

If you're using a VPN like the guide suggests, it's not your real IP address, if you're connecting to a public server, you don't even need to give your IP, just put in the right one

That error means the installer you’re using is for 1.4.3.2 and your game ver is 1.5

#

What the item is doesn't matter.

You can potentially do that check without opening waterways a few ways, but that's irrelevant because for simplicity, Randomizer requires key #1 to be used to open waterways, and then none of the other key checks are in-logic until you have all keys

When you're done deleting those files and re-verifying, then open Scarab again. If it says that you have mods installed, then click to install something else, then just un-install it. (Scarab needs you to install a mod to get the ModdingAPI re-enabled after removing it entirely)

There are lots of different fixes in the pins. If one in the message doesn't work, then use another. Some of them only work on certain game versions, so make sure you checked that.

Nothing should prevent you from Dashing/CDashing though. You may want to see if the Keyboard input works.

You shouldn't really need to be there
Press "Open Mods" in the bottom left of Scarab/Mi2 to get taken to the mods folder
If you for some reason do need to be there, mac has two managed folders, the correct one is \Hollow Knight\hollow_knight.app/Contents\Resources\Data\Managed\

If you’re on 1.5 you can use moresaves to edit your save file in game, otherwise you’ll need to edit it using a .json file generated by the qol mod or use a online save editor

I don’t know why that mod installer is named that way but that might mean it’s outdated
That mod installer is not for that version of hollow knight, you have 1.5 and that mod installer is for 1.4.3.2

Basically you enter the ip of somebody you’re connecting to unless you’re hosting

But unless you’re on the same network, that gets complicated

You’ll either have to use a vpn or port forward, I suggest using a vpn since port forwarding reveals your real IP address and requires messing with your router while a vpn just uses a “fake” ip

I think fire used to refer to QoL as the speedrun mod in his videos, what's important is that QoL allows you to bring back some "features" from 1.2.2.1 into current patch, and also speeds up some tedious things (like sell all relics)

I just suggest deleting the backups and the .json files

#

If you install Qol it will detect the json files as save files and it will be like you did nothing, deleting the backups is just for storage since you probably haven’t gotten your saves corrupted

The wrong spawn is a known bug on 3.5. use benchwarp to warp to dirtmouth or something

Close scarab, go to steam, right click hk, click properties, click local files, click verify integrity of files, files (the ModdingApi) will fail to verify and be redownload. Don’t open scarab again until you want to use mods

so a little confused on the custom knight mod. I have a 1.5 patch of the game and I just got scarab. This is the first time I've ever modded the game, and I put the skins in the correct folder based on the pinned message. I have satchel enabled and when I go look for a skin to put on, I do see the skins in the list, but when I attempt to use them, my character just flashes and nothing happens

the only difference is that MultiWorld/ItemSync doesn't exist on 1.5 currently

So you can still use HKMP and play "old fashioned" Randomizer together, where you [both] use the same seed + settings to have the same world

but if you are wanting to play MultiWorld or ItemSync, then you would need to downpatch

This is a bug with the 1.5 Mod Menu. You have to press the "Back" menu option. There's also a mod you can install that adds a "fix it" button if you accidentally hit the wrong button.

I am using the latest Scarab (1.5) with the following mods (and respective dependencies):
Randomizer v3.5, Debug Mod, Custom Knight, More Saves

Whenever I start a new save file and enter king's pass, the world (not the UI) is completely black except whenever a pickup somewhere on screen flashes

I have attempted to reinstall HK, wiping the game's folder and the Team Cherry folder on %appdata% as well, but the problem still persists
Using benchwarp to teleport elsewhere, the game was normal (I only tried Dirtmouth and Crystal Peak guardian though)
