Not all mods have been updated to 1.5, no. If you want to play randomizer, as well as some other stuff, you'll need to be on the older patch

Crowd control requires current patch (will crash on 1.4) and randomizer doesn't show up in current patch so I assume they're incompatible Sadge

If they are incompatible, best we can do is to use Hollow Twitch (is crowd control but viewers send messages in chat like !floorspikes), as I know that can work with rando

There is a port of Randomizer for current patch.
It's seemingly stable, but at least one person ||(I think Crasben above? lol)|| has had issues with it. At any rate, you're free to try it

#

Also, "Crowd Control" isn't new, and it doesn't require 1.5

#

The "Crowd Control" people just copy+pasted Hollow Twitch, and put it on their platform under their name, and made it require their own currency.

#

You can use Hollow Twitch on 1432 or 1.5, and it is the same thing.

IIRC, the Crowd Control webpage specifically links to the Hollow Twitch page for the ReadMe

AFAIK, the only edits made were those to make it work with their own platform. I haven't heard of any actual changes to what it can do.

So just starting from scratch:

You need to downpatch to 1.4.3.2 (3rd pin)
Get mod installer 2 (first pin)
Download all of the mods you want separately. For randomiser you'll need the mods that I'll link to next.

If you're using scarab, then apart from the new Rando port, that's all the 1.5 mods available

If you downloaded it from Scarab, then it should automatically work.
You may need to launch your game, then close and restart it, as it's supposed to get the files it needs when it first loads if you don't have them.
If it's not working after restarting, I can post the missing files

so, I've been using the 1.4.3 scarab or whatever version it was. Though for a while, whenever I died, it sent my camera to a dream area and I had to close and reopen the game to do literally anything since none of the controls worked after I was sent to the dream area. You probably activated "non-pause pause". I don't remember the default bind for it, but it's the ability to pause the game without using the pause menu

Fwiw, not all actions you can do get logged.
That aside, I've seen some people have issues with the Respawn button, and idk why.
You can always bind keys to "quick save" and "quick load" in the Save States binding page, and use that for stuff

I'm new to modding and had recently installed a mod installer, the one with Zote as the icon, and was trying to get the multiplayer mods on there to work. I had found a tutorial on the steam community page which said that scarab was required and I installed it. After installing scarab I installed a couple mods including one meant for multiplayer and launched Hollow Knight. When I got into the game I ran into a problem where the skins I had, that were working before, couldn't be selected. I started looking at the files thinking that the problem had something to do with some of the pre-existing mod files from mod installer conflicting with the mod files from scarab and then I deleted the mod installer mod files and at some point I tried to uninstall mod installer and scarab, and try to reinstall the mod installer. Also things got to the point where I had to verify file integrity to even open Hollow Knight. Now Hollow knight will only launch in the vanilla version not modded. I have no idea how to fix the problem, can any of you help me?

verifying the game files resets the modding api back to it's vanilla file, you need to relaunch the installer to install the api, as for the CK issue, #archived-modding-help message

you also dont need 1.5 to have HKMP, see pins for 1.4 HKMP

I'm not sure what you mean by relaunch the installer. Are you talking about when it's open and you can select the mods you want? All I see is enable modding API and I have it enabled that and it's not working.

I wouldn't say it's a copy/paste job. We spent time to actually make the HollowTwitch effects confirm that they activated correctly, pause when in menus, and in states that the effects wouldn't work. Plenty of things HollowTwitch doesn't do. We followed the rules of the license that HollowKnight used, and published our changes as required. https://github.com/WarpWorld/HKTwitch It's easy enough to compare the changes and see the work put into it.

Ah, fair enough. The re-naming of it and people who largely seemed to think it was a completely new/unique mod has probably lead my reactions to people to be short. Like, it seemed like it was branded as though it were brand new, instead of making it clear that it was an improved version of the existing mod.

I'm not sure what you mean by "renaming of it". Obviously you have your HollowTwitch program, and I don't think it would be a good idea to take that name and try and use it as our own? We didn't really name it either, it's just another game supported by our software.

We wish we could control the masses of users that think it's completely new or unique, we credit things where we can to ensure users know it's based on previous work. At the end of the day your community of players that have been around a while will know HKTwitch, and our users from our community will experience Hollow Knight in a way they might not have known existed prior. All of which should hopefully bring new users into HollowKnight and spread more awareness of the game as a whole.

We always strive to make our users aware of things and give credit where it's due, even when it's not required by a license. So we're always open to constructive feedback and criticism to help make ourselves and our software better.

Then move the three folders that are inside the Randomiser 3.5 folder into your mods folder.
