Hi, I'm trying to install mods for latest patch using Scarab but it doesn't seem to detect any of my old mods. Should I manually delete the old mod files or should I just leave them be?

You cannot play either Rando on 1.5

#

So you will either need to stay on patch 1.4 or yes just delete these

You'll want to start from scratch with mods when you change patch

In the future you want #randomizer

This channel is more about tech help. For your issue here though, you can either check your Randomiser Helper Log (in your saves folder) or download Randomiser Map S. These tell you locations you've missed. (But not what is there.)

but the focus mp amount thing is set at 33 and this is a save file where I've never loaded the mod

So, I tried to install some mods and then downloaded ModInstaller for HK. Turns out the .exe doesn't even open, so I can't use it. It creates a file called AU.exe in my desktop but nothing happens after that. Can someone help me?

to choose skins you have to download them first and put them into the custom knight folder, and then the ui should be in your pause menu

I just beat an item randomizer, and when I closed the game my computer crashed and had to restart. i just tried opening up the game and my mods arent showing up in the top left corner, and all my saves just say theyre loading

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this as I hadn't seen it in recent or pinned comments but while installing mods to a new pc I found that if you install a mod and a mod that you install later needs the mod the previous mod will show that it is no longer installed.
This is version 1.4 of the game with setup for randomization using the mod installer on a windows 10 pro. I did not check if it actually removed the files in file explorer.

Hello, I seem to have a problem with my controller anytime I play modded. I'm using a macBook pro and a ps4 controller and it doesn't seem to connect to my modded Hollow Knight. Once I validate it on steam and tried again it worked but thats for the regular version. It seems like the controller doesn't connect with modded. Is there anything I can do to fix this. Btw I used Bluetooth and usb

I know that 1432 had an issue with Unix people getting the wrong modding API, but afaik that was fixed with Scarab.

You should use the correct installer for the mods that you want

I tried using ModInstaller, but it wasn't finding a pathway, so I tried selecting it manually. It didn't let me do so, so I created a folder in Programs x86 named Steam, then another one on it named steamapps and so on and copied all game files on it to see if maybe that tricked it into finding the pathway. The thing is that then it said it was unable to locate files, so I moved on to try with Scarab

There's not many files for it, there's only just the application, and there's the settings for it, which you only need to touch if you want to reset the installer.

If you can't afford something, don't steal it. Be patient, find a way to earn money. Ask your parents for an allowance, get a job, etc. Modding isn't supported for stolen copies of the game. If you do find some money, make sure you buy the game on Steam or GOG, it goes on sale rather frequently for half off

Hell mod makes the game just blatantly harder, or you can try some of the mods that really change things up, like hollow point or light bringer. But by the sound of it it kinda seems like this is gonna be for your second playthrough, in which case I kinda recommend doing another playthrough

If you want a mod on 1.5 that isn't there but it's on 1.4, asking for it in #archived-modding-development is a good way to see if anybody is willing to do it. (Just remember to ask politely and not demand!)

So open scarab, then in the bottom left click open mods. A folder will open up. Open custom knight, then open skins, and drag the skin folders you want there. Make sure it’s the folder containing the pictures, not the zip. All you have to do is open the zip, then a separate folder will be downloaded. That’s the folder you need to drag and drop into the skins folder
