Then clear your globalsettings files, they can be found in with your saves ^

Clear as in just delete them, you should only need to delete the custom knight ones, but you might just wanna delete em all

So I'm trying to manually mod HK 1.4.3.2 on mac, but I want to keep another modded version of HK 1.5.(...), and I managed to create multiple instances of the game, each with their own directories and copies of the Modding API. The problem is that the only thing that shows up in the upper-left hand corner is the modding API

#

For now, I am testing with just HKMP and Randomiser version 3
The only reason I'm installing manually is because I can't seem to find a way to change the directory in ModInstaller2, so I may juse be being stupid about that
Edit: I just had to change path in Scarab, and it carried over to ModInstaller2

Blackmoth has upwards dashing iirc, but that has other features you may not want, if you really want to you can learn the basics of coding and probably just copy most that code. Why do you want that tho?

hey so ? im not exactly sure what happened but my file and everything was working fine earlier (im only using charm revamp and a charm combo mod along with custom knight since its my first playthrough) and i turned my comp off and went to bed and i just wokeup and im trying to play again and it launched vanilla version of the game and so i went to go check my files and the mods folder and all my stuff that was in it is just gone?

The game doesn't actually load, period. When I used Scarab, it did (with a few issues). Healthbar worked. But Scarab doesn't have the enemy randomizer. So I followed the instructions to change the two DLL files, but when I did that, the game decides not to load unless I reinstall it via. Steam.

What instructions? And by the sound of it you're using enemy randomizer on 1.5 which doesn't work, downpatch to 1.4 and get mod installer 1/2

Like RiverRobot said, if you are trying to use Enemy Randomizer on 1.5, it is not currently compatible. I've recently started working on an update, but it'll likely be a little while before it's ready.

On 1.5 you place the folder containing the skin pngs into the Skin folder, located at \Mods\Custom Knight\Skins (to get to mods press ("Open Mods" at the bottom left of scarab)
On 1.4 you place the folder containing the skin pngs into the Custom Knight folder, located at \Managed\Mods\Custom Knight\

And if you don't know, hollow knight updated semi-recently, if you haven't played in a couple months you should download Scarab (first/second pin) as mod installer is for 1.4.3.2 and won't work with 1.5 HK

You can

Create a folder and name it whatever you want the skin to be called, drop in the different sheets from the different skins you want

If you're very good you can edit two of the same sheet together, but that will require some experience with image editing

Sorry for bothering would any of you know how to fix this problem, so basically when I install the mod-installer it ask me to select my hollow knight installation path, so I select hollow knight game file and it tells me that I need the most recent stable version to run the mod. I downgraded my game and then changed the two DLL files. Then added the enemy randomizer mod. Got a crash report. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm extremely interested in doing a randomizer playthrough but not too sure where I'm going wrong.

im having a hard time trying to install the API mod (and the debug mod after that) Neither are displaying in the top left hand side.
I intent to attempt speedrunning, on 1.2.2.1, have downloaded the files labled as such, created a dupe of the game and added that to steam as a non-steam game, replaced "hollow_knight_data" with the "1.2.2.1 Modding API Windows" version of the same file and replaced all duplicates, opened the game and its not indicating on the top left hand side.
I've tried searching through pinned comments but am not finding anything, this looks simple.
I'm on windows 10, steam.
Any suggestions?

I came back to Hollow Knight after some time and attempted to play a regular game.
It's stuck on Randomizer so I went to the ModInstaller to try and turn it off
Turns out there's an error and I can't access it to turn it off
I tried to look up the ModInstaller on Google and it led me straight back to the error when I tried to reinstall it.
Any chance I can recover from this?

It sounds like you're just trying to remove mods, if so then verify your game integrity using steam. Or if you want to use mod installer more:

Make sure your game is closed while running the installer
Make sure your installer isn't in a zipped folder
Make sure your installer is on your desktop, or atleast not somewhere such as your downloads folder

It's likely not running because you're using the wrong installer for your game version, make sure you're either using scarab or you check the third pinned message. And verify game integrity using steam to remove mods

First, make sure that your don't have any mods disabled in the "mod options" menu that's on the pause menu. (Even if a mod can be disabled there, doing so often actually breaks things).

Second, you may need to delete your Global Settings files. You can do this by navigating to your saves folder and manually deleting them all, or by downloading and running this script:

Rando is only available on 1432 at this time.

Check the third pin pinknight for instructions on going to that version, and then use the other mod installers

So I've installed Scarab on 1.5, however I can't get the Randomizer mod 3.0 to appear in the mod menu. I've moved the folder into the same folder as the other enabled mods.

To play Rando, you need to downpatch to 1432.
Instructions are in the 4rd pin pinknight

Saves aren't affected between 1432 and 1.5
