I downloaded the mod installer, got it set up to my Hollow Knight file but when I tried to install mods it said I wasn't on current patch and that I needed to update despite me not seeing any update option on steam and my game is clearly up to date. Any ideas why it's doing this?

There's two versions of the game which mods work for, each has it's own mod installer. You're using the wrong one for the version you're on.

Does anyone know how I can combine two CustomKnight skins?
I want to combine a knight skin with a UI, sword slash trail color, Monark Wing color, and dash trail colors from a different CustomKnight skin. I know that you have to combine certain parts of the PNGs, and I can probably do that in GIMP, but that seems very tedious, and I'd probably mess it up, as I only use GIMP for drawing. Does anyone know of an easy way to combine the certain parts of the PNGs?

This is a known issue, but I don't remember what causes it
If you're exiting with escape, then use the "close" button (or vice versa).

The game isn't actually frozen, it just isn't loading the normal pause menu correctly.
If you have Benchwarp installed, and Hotkeys enabled, you warp to a bench to fix it (bench shortcuts are in the readme)

FYI, you're soul can also break if you spam it a lot using infinite soul from debug.

Well, you need to change versions.
Check the pins pinknight

1.5 uses Scarab
1432 uses Mod Installer

Mod Installer 2 is what Scarab is based on, so if you've used Scarab, it'll probably be more familiar.

I'm thinking this is what's causing my game to crash with the "Hollow Twitch" mod. Well, at least that'be the error itself, but still wouldn't know what causes it.

anyway sometimes when i go to the 'mod' settings page while in-game and i try to go back to the game, it just hides the menu without giving me control of my character so it doesn't crash or freeze exactly, i just can't do anything to get out of that state except force quitting

that and the custom knight mod is just completely broken

whenever i quit out to the main menu and go back to the game, it resets the skin back to the default character

(to be fair, it only just released a couple days ago for scarab)

im not an expert on this but i was having the exact same problem - here is my fix:

when you exit the mod menu, go into the game menu then back out and then click back, this usually fixes it
You have to reset the skin every time i think. Its annoying but its not too big of a deal @void sierra

I have a question about the steam beta - I was trying to revert to 1.4.3.2 for mods but I was having an issue where I get massive input lag on the beta. My frames are pretty much fine though, so I don't think its my computer. It works fine on current patch, but only does this on the beta, whether I have mods on or not . It still should work, if you want 1.4.3.2 for mods theres another method btw. If you want 1.2.2.1 of other speedrun versions, try #speedrunning or the speedrun server

Anything that's on Scarab, would be on Scarab, so nothing to link. The health bar mod is called EnemyHPBar.
If it's not on Scarab yet, then I believe it will be soon.
