Also, perhaps try downpatching, it may help (second pinned message). The way you described it earlier was that it would crash and show you that error after a rand amount of time playing right?

ok so I modded hollow knight a little while ago and since then the game hasn't been playable.
I installed a few mods but I was mostly using Hollow Point and the skin mod.
After installing hollow point the spell/heal button stopped working, and that's persisted through repeated uninstalls and reinstalls.
This is even persisting after I've switched to a new hard drive, and now the game isn't even showing up in my Steam library.
wtf is going on?

Well, reset your installer and make sure to path it to the 1.4.3.2 version, if you wanna know which is which, navigate to your 1.4 install on steam > right click it > select properties > local files > browse, then check the file path and make sure you follow that path on the mod installer. I attempted to add something to mod installer (1) one once, and managed to get literally nothing changed correctly for it and I gave up on that after 30 minutes lol

Gradow is the original creator of MI1, and 56 is the creator of MI2. Neither person are the ones who have the most recent updates to them though.

I can not do the mod installer. It says downloaded but then I get a message saying "unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue the applications will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit the application will close immediately. Access to the path C:\temp is denied" When I click continue it takes me to another screen called Mod Manager and an option for "Manually"

I am having a problem with custom knight (steam version, nucleus coop). When I select a skin from the menu on the left my character flashes white but the skin does not change, it says in the mod installer that it cannot detect "modcommon" but it is there in the "mods" and "Hollow Knight" folders

These are what I've seen/heard that fixed them from looking at past versions of similar errors.

start the game without a controller plugged in and plug it in on the main menu.
I believe it was being cause by a program called "Citrix" for one person, which seems to be a virtual cloud desktop or something according to google, so if you have anything like that maybe try uninstalling that.
One that got fixed was a bit weird, the first thing they did was went back up to CP (Current patch) checked if the game was working there, which it was, and then downpatched using depot download instead iirc. I believe this is the guide for that: https://www.speedrun.com/hollowknight/guide/jlten

The "Bindings" mod, i believe, requires you to edit the globalsettings file next to your save files. The "Togglable Bindings" mod, is hold down + tap the cdash button, you need to be next to a bench if you don't change that setting

I recently got Hollow Knight on PC for modding specifically, as I have already beaten the game on Switch

Pretty sure notch cost is also stored in the save file so it's the same process but change what you edit. If you have other mods on like Charm Overhaul, that's probably causing it tho
