from what i understand it just copies your files from the protected directory to your desktop.
and there seems to be a legitimate github project where you should download the application from : https://github.com/Wunkolo/UWPDumper that said, it is a process not many have tried here. so you'd need to take a risk on that front. also probably best to not ping multiple people.

I mean it's pretty simple once you know what you have to do but i get that, especially if you just want to like, unlock/beat the diffs on one or 2 bosses using debug is easier. If you want to unlock the diffs for all bosses save editing is probably faster tho

Yea that happens sometimes. I believe what you wanna do is unequip the charm, set it to 0 for unowned, and then try save editing it to I believe 5

those are two separate things, debug only gives you one save state, and moresaves gives you several pages of save files

ok so I was using the Hollow Point mod for awhile w/o issue but then today (possibly connected to trying to get multiplayer to work, dunno) I started being invisible (only gun still visible, lol) and then the "unable to heal" bug happened.
I used both the "click twice on .bat file" and "manually place dll" fixes and if I have Hollow Point disabled, I can heal; if I enable it, same problem with healing appears (tho not the invisibility).
I quite enjoy this silly mod though and would like to keep using it if possible. Is there a way to do this (and heal)?
The readme seems quite leery of uninstalling the mod (regarding saves) so I have not yet tried that.

Being invisible is usually caused by customknight, may also happen if you use lightbringer as well. And healing uses a different method with hollow point so if you mean using soul to focus doesn't do anything, then yes that's normal

Hey, does anyone have any tips on getting the controller to work with the mods? I've tried plugging it in when at the title screen; no luck.
I'm playing on a mac, using an xbox one controller via usb.

That's likely since the installer adds the windows version of the api instead of the unix one. To fix it you can manually install the unix api. To do so, first download and unzip the folder, then open all the folders till you find several Assembly-CSharp files, then set the folder aside. Next (assuming steam), navigate to your steam library > right click HK > select properties > local files > browse > in the folder that opens right click hollow_knight.app, select "Open Package Contents" > then navigate down \hollow_knight.app/Contents\Resources\Data\Managed\ (Note: there's two managed folders so make sure you take the right path, and the managed folder may be hidden below a bunch of level files). Then move the earlier Assembly-CSharp files and move them into the Managed folder, replacing any existing ones.

Here's a little thing I've noticed and am curious about any input on: when I play Hollow Knight (or other Unity games specifically) with V-Sync disabled, I can audibly hear my GPU whining. Even the framerate cap doesn't fix it, only V-Sync does. Thankfully, on the current patch, the game plays and feels great even with V-Sync, so it isn't an issue there.
On 1.4.3.2, however, the game is hella laggy with V-Sync. Unplayable, basically. One of the mods I got from installing the item randomizer (QOL I'm guessing) added an "Input lag" function to the menu which does indeed get rid of the input lag, however my GPU goes back to whining when I use this function. This makes me wonder what the input lag option actually does.

Yea, that's cause the installer adds the windows modding api and not the unix one. You can download the unix api here: https://github.com/HollowKnight-Modding/HollowKnight.Modding/releases/download/1.4.3.2-60/Unix.zip
To install it, first download it and unzip the folder, then go through the folders till you find a couple Assembly-Csharp files, then set that aside for a bit. Next, navigate to your Managed folder, should be the one that contains the mods folder (in case you don't know: go to steam library > right click HK > select properties > local files > browse > \Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\.) Then move the earlier Assembly-CSharp files into the managed folder and replace the existing ones

i was able to get the controller working again by validating the game files

tried modding again after that and it worked okay, but then i tried pausing at one point and the game didnt actually pause in the background, and i couldnt unpause to get control over the character again lol

so maybe i just wont play with mods for a while

already beat the game twice on switch and wanna go again on pc and the mods are just making it complicated for me rn tbh

The not pausing in the background sounds like changing time scale with debug hotkeys

and unpausing not working is weird and I think I've seen it before but not sure how to fix it

Inside the skin folder is a hollow_knight_Data folder, this folder needs to be moved to (for windows) the game files and replace the existing one (to get to the game files go to the steam library > right click HK > select properties > local files >browse)
