Okay right click your install in Steam and find "local files". Make sure that your installer is being directed to that file path

OK you lost me here. I have files in steamapps -> common -> HK -> HK Data, and then I have [user] -> AppData -> LocalLow -> TeamCherry -> HK; but I thought it was normal to have those two?

I have no idea how I would have wound up with two installs.

If you're asking how to make a custom knight skin, you need to take the Knight.png file and draw over all of it, then put that as you would any other custom knight skin but with it's own folder

Then what you'd want to do is, first install custom knight and run the game once, then you'll want to navigate to your mods folder, open the custom knight folder and find default, then you'll find a file called "Knight.png" as well as several other pngs, then you use some program to draw over each individual frame of the knight sprite sheet

I know it can use blackmoth but I thought that was optional. Maybe try navigating to your save files and try deleting the globalsettings file for the mod, if it has one.

Don't disable just uninstall, or if you want to fix it you can navigate to your mods folder (go to steam library > right click HK > properties > local files > browse > right click hollow_knight.app > select "show package contents" > go \hollow_knight.app/Contents\Resources\Data\Managed\Mods), and create a new folder called Disabled inside the mods folder

Mac, mods, and controller not working is a common problem, the installer adds the windows modding api to the game so you have to manually add the mac one then your installer should work fine

Well, afaik the only way to deal with that is to just manually install mods, and maybe one day try the installer again and hope it works. To manually install mods head to the "Google Drive with Mods", linked below, and download the mods you want. Then navigate to your mods folder (steam library > right click HK > properties > local files > browse > \Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\Mods\), and place the dll for the mod you download directly in the folder, make sure it's not in a folder or zipped. Also this assumes that the modding api successfully downloaded, if mods aren't showing up in the top left corner of the main menu you may needa manually install the api

Also worth noting that there's two managed folders, and the one in data may be hidden beneath a bunch of "level" files. Also if there is no custom knight folder make sure to run the game with custom knight installed once. And be sure to check the second pinned message

Something odd I noticed about the charm overhaul mod. It seems sometimes while sitting at the town bench, the charm changes aren't in effect, such as the compass costs a notch. but you go to any other bench of the mod works fine.

Can anyone give me the file(s) I need for Gods of Battle? I wanna do the boss, but ModInstaller for Linux doesn't have it and I couldn't find it anywhere else. Using the Windows version as instructed in the stickied post didn't work for me, but I guess that's a Distro thing. I'm running the Windows Version of the game, so it shouldn't be a problem.
My Modded Boss experience so far is Corrupted Kin and Inferno King Grimm, so I think I'm ready for Gods of Battle, which is a fight I wanted to do for a long while now. I hope you can help me.
Manually Installing the Mod isn't a problem for me.

Then it's usually something along the lines of C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Common\Hollow Knight\, to make sure this is the right path, go to the steam library > right click HK > select properties > local files > browse, then the file that opens should be the correct spot so make sure to use that file path, which should be the above one but always good to double check

Unfortunately the only work around for that, that I'm aware of, is to manually install mods and hope the installer starts working eventually. To manually install mods: Head to the "Google Drive with Mods" linked below, then download mods you want and place the dll in your mods folder, which should be located at \Common\Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\Mods. Note: you may need to manually install the modding api if the installer didn't do so automatically, to do this find the modding api on the google drive and move the Assembly-CSharp files from it into your Managed folder.

Well for the full screen thing try alt+ enter, but, usually that geo rock happens when you have randomizer but are missing qol/vasi, maybe try getting those but I'm not really sure why it seems to be happening with debug. If it works on already existing saves you can disable debug, create a save, then reenable debug

i get this message when trying to open hollow knight, even though that folder is next to the hollow knight executable

you'd have to tell it that your games folder is on a seperate drive, because you can't change it to a folder on the same driver
