I found a readme with the link to modded API but it says the URL was not found. I am still unable to find the modded API for 1221. I checked the discord too, I could've missed it so if anyone could tell me where I could find it exactly that would be cool.

Download custom Knight from the mod installer, then you will need to place your skins in the appropriate place. I don't have the file path to hand.

Okay, open your hollow knight folder

You need to right click on the hollow knight app and press something like "explore these files"

Hey, long time player, first time modding. A couple super basic questions. I have save files that I really don't want to lose -- full 112% completion, all pantheons, all bosses radiant, steel soul, all achievements, etc.

• If I install mods, will I still have access to those "Vanilla" save files? (I.e, can I use mods on new saves, but not the old ones).
• After installing mods, is it possible to launch vanilla HK through Steam, and modded HK through some other application, or does modded HK fully supplant vanilla?
• If the latter is true (you can't launch vanilla after installing mods), how easy is it to toggle mods on and off? I might get back into Path of Pain speedrunning, and would prefer to do that with vanilla HK.

1. It’s case by case some mods won’t work on existing saves most will.
2. Modded HK pretty much replaces the vanilla version but it is very simple to switch between the two (literally just run the installer to enable modded and verify game integrity to disable modded) also note if you want vanilla to be current patch (since you needa down-patch, guide in first pinned message) theres that step of downloading. It is also possible to create two installs of the game on steam.

I've been having a heck of a time getting anything to work, looked through pins etc unless I truly missed something helpful in there, but I feel I've tried most everything.

I can't even get the beta 1.4.3.2 to run; the game loads for about 15 seconds, gets past the primer about autosaving, and then crashes out (when I went through the logs that I could find, best I get out of them is this: (hollow_knight.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module hollow_knight.exe at 0023:7fff7fff.). The best I can find when googling about this is something about a program called Citrix, that I have never heard of and do not believe I have on my system.

Other things I've tried include running the game as admin, verifying integrity, deleting the Assembly files and verifying integrity again, uninstalling and trying to install 1.4.3.2 from a fresh install, deleting all save data, controller plugged in/disconnected.

Any points to the way to fix this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

if it's red, you haven't unlocked it

you have to sit on a bench to unlock it for warping

or, you can press the unlock all benches button

After i just installed debug when i run hk it gives me error messege saying the game crashed

That did the trick, am able to get to the title screen, and then was able to get mods working from there. Thank you again!
