Well first, go to the installer, (for mi1) make sure there's not a button that says "Enable Modding API" at the bottom, or (for mi2) search for the modding api in the mod list and make sure it's installed and enabled

honestly reinstalling the installer may help, considering its only working because of a glitch, i'm 90% sure of it anyway

well no, it just, worked, when it wasn't working, i'll explain the best i can in the following

when it asked if the path was correct, i clicked no, then it asked it again for some reason, and i clicked yes, and it then "worked"

meaning, it asked if the path was correct twice, the first time i said no, the second time i said yes, and it loaded up the mod manager

At the bottom, select "Change Default Install Path"

Then, from the steam library > right click HK > select properties > local files > browse > and double check the pathing of the file it opens. Then make sure to give the installer that same pathing, it should stop in the Hollow Knight folder with the hollow_knight Application

When you click browse it'll open a folder, if you're on windows, at the top of it will be a file path (Example image below), take note of the pathing, and lead the installer down that same path

You can't paste it in, you just need to know the pathing and follow it, like in the example image, find the C: folder, open that, find the Program files (x86 folder and open that, etc.

i seem to be unable to launch the mod installer, when i try to launch it, either in normal or admin mode, it starts a window, immediatly closes it, and then nothing, afterward i tried redownloading it, it give me an error saying that access to the path to AU.exe is denied, afterwards i redownloaded from github, and get the same problem as i started with

trying to find debugmod 1.3.3 for Hollow Knight 1.2.2.1 because it has working savestates; but, I can only find the sourcecode. current debug mod has a problem that prevents it being used for speedrun practice. The source code will not build. If anyone still has a copy of the old debug mod before they screwed up savestates, please let me know. I am trying to practice all skills watchers and I need quick repetitions to develop the muscle memory on it.

No. In all skills, you don't have dreamgate at all to my knowledge. That also doesn't really help. Basically, what I need is the functionality of minisavestates; but, in a form that doesn't completely break the game.

It's hollow point, you should probably check the readme. But essentially it makes it so soul is your ammo and it regenerates infinitely, and you heal by getting multiple consecutive hits without taking damage to build up adrenaline

I don't know if it's a modding issue or something else, but I've downgraded the game to 1.4.3.2 to be able to use custom knight and now, the map in the game I was playing is completely broken. The quick map button does nothing and in the menu, I only have "inventory", "charms" and "journal". Did anyone else have the same issue or know how to fix it?

The main issue is that mods will have to be updated individually by their original maker, or someone else will have to take the code and update it. This is not something where a fix to the API or a few mods will do it. It affects almost all mods and a lot of modders are now inactive. Team Cherry made some major back-end game engine changes, so updating every mod that's been made is not trivial. From a player perspective, the changes are pretty minor ones, so playing on 1.4.3.2 should be just fine.

Hi, I installed the Kakyoin Noriaki mod, and am currently having problems with custom text. Apparently the mod is supposed to change various item descriptions and stuff like that, but it just..doesn't. The texture changes, however, work just fine (the knight is now kakyoin, the geo is greenish, etc.). Any idea what could be causing this? The mod didn't mention any dependencies to download.
