Hollow Knight recently updated to 1.5, which is not yet compatible with mods
To anyone who recently updated HK to 1.5 (Mod Installer says it requires latest stable version):
Until the ModdingAPI is updated, you will need to go back to the previous version (1.4.3.2).

Steam users can opt-in to a "1.4.3.2 Beta" patch, found in Properties > Beta > then selecting it from the drop-down list. See the attached image for a visual guide on doing this. Note: it takes a few minutes to revert the game!

GoG Galaxy users can opt to download 1.4.3.2 by opening the game settings in the GoG launcher and selecting it from the list of patches.

Mac users The 1.5 Update is very wonky for Mac:

If the game crashes after the loading bar loads, btw, unplug your controller and try again, then plug the controller back in once the loading bar disappears and you see the selection screen.

If you're main Steam install is 1221, then that seems like a silly thing to do.
If you use 1221 for running, then it should really be a separate install.
Your main install can be 1432 easily, and then just set back to 1.5 when mods are supported for it.

Mods aren't "officially" maintained by anyone.
If a dev of one wants to, they can convert and update it. But a lot of the devs of mods on the installer are no longer active.

And even then, the missing API for 1.5 isn't "officially" released yet, and it's still receiving major/mod-breaking updates regularly afaik

hi guys, i m new to the server and in hk modding and I have a problem that I find no topics about. I downloaded the installer. I know that the latest game patch is a mess for modding so I'll switch my game version but the problem is something weirder. When I'm trying to launch the .exe of installer, a window pops up briefly (0.5 sec) with "microsoft.net framework" title but the window is blank, not like in pins. I thought it was due to my firewall, so I enabled it. But nothing seems to work either.. Any suggestions/help ? ;-;

Make sure you both have modcommon. your port should be "26950". And check that hamachi doesn't have any errors and that the circles next to you and your friend are green. Also make sure that you're using the right ip, which would be the host players ipv4 address. And one more thing of note, there's a different multiplayer mod called HKMP or Hollow Knight Multiplayer, that's more stable than the one on the installer and has some extra features. I have a question. I have the mod installed that lets me change the Knight's skin, but at this point it looks like i need to dowload skins separately. Are there any as part of the mod installer, otherwise where else would i get some?
