Custom Knight from the Installer has gone rogue, and is assassinating the ModdingAPI.
You'll need to go to your mods folder and delete the non-dll files there.

They are probably going to be hidden files:

You can show hidden files on Mac by pressing the Command, Shift, and Period keys at the same time.

If you're using the multiplayer mods from the ModInstaller, then yes. You can't change them, or it won't work

You may want to try HKMP instead though

It's actively being improved upon, and is a lot easier to use, and more stable than the mod installer one

Also, the pins are rather confusing, it’s easy to miss things on the first viewing, as well as the readmes. At least one of the solutions is mixed in with other solutions which people will skim over because they don’t fit their problem. And if helping people with problems, even simple ones, is annoying for you, then why do you still do it?

I’d think it’s normal, i assume it does a lot of GameObject management so I wouldn’t be surprised if the more you go into rooms with shops and items the more memory is taken up

It doesn't "install", and you can't "uninstall" it. The first pin has a file you can use to reset it's memory though, or look farther down for the specific info to do it manually

Check the Multiplayer Procedure message in the pins pinknight if you're using the version that's on the Mod Installer, and make sure that you both follow each step.

Personally, I'd recommend using HKMP (https://github.com/Extremelyd1/HKMP) instead, which isn't on the installer at this time, but is a lot easier to use and is actively being developed. If you choose to use it, it does have a dedicated support server linked in that GitHub page.

It's the mod called 'Custom Knight'
To use it, you'll need to put a folder with the spritesheets you want to use in the Custom Knight mod location.
I believe one of the pinned messages in one of the mod channels here will have a google drive with a bunch to choose from.

stone spindle i have a issue with my game were it doesnt quit to main menu on any file i need ...

This is a known unity/hollow knight bug btw.
I was able to fix it personally by using Steam's advanced controller settings to Force the game to read my controller as an Xbox controller (even though it was an Xbox controller).

The main bug is just the crash though- it should still be saving. If it's not saving at all, then you might have somehow got wonky permissions setup on your computer. You might want to try running the game as Administrator (right click the hollow_knight.exe, and select Run as Admin. If that works, then you can make it always do that in properties)

Also there's a vanilla fix by using a save editor, check the pins for the "HollowPoint soul fix" and do the 3rd fix, and while you're there hit ctrl+f and search for "jumps"

Depends, what save slot is your original file in? If it's, say the 3rd one down, you should rename the downloaded file to user3.dat

🔸 Using QoL (Quality of Life) mod:

Go to your save files (type ?saves in chat if you don't know where that is)
Locate user#.json (with # being the save slot number)
CTRL+F "focusMP_amount"
Set the value to 33
