it's vasi that does this. go into your game files in the mods folder, and either delete vasi.zip, or extract the vasi.dll that's inside yourself

I'm pretty sure in debug you can remove all charms as well, and you can give yourself the fragments individually. But afaik, giving yourself the charms again will give you void heart again.

It might just be Remove Items. I use more saves, so I only use the binds, and I've never needed to remove the charms.

There are two different Mod Installers, yes. The Radiance Host one (zote icon), and Mod Installer 2 (in the pins).

I was confused because neither is "mod loader", which sounded like a different version that isn't community supported or something.

That's not a normal thing. It sounds like for some reason it doesn't have the proper read/write permissions.

Did you move the installer to your Desktop, and run as Administrator?

Mod Installer literally just

downloads mod files
extracts them to the mods folder
any mods that you mark as disabled gets copy+pasted to the "disabled" folder, then deleted from the mods folder
enabling then does the same thing, but from disabled to mods
and mods that you uninstall just get deleted

So if something isn't working, it's because it can't affect that file. This is most commonly because of people leaving it in the Downloads folder, which Windows is very strict about, and prevents programs run out of it from working correctly.

Also, sometimes the installer doesn't uninstall a mod correctly if there was an issue with a mod, for reasons that I don't know, but at any rate, of you want to uninstall a mod, I would recommend just deleting the .dll yourself.

hey, I made a save state, beat Mawlek, got cyclone slash (also have randomizer on). When I reloaded the save state I no longer had cyclone slash (expected) but after beating Mawlek again I didn't get an item. Is that weird? Is there a reason that happens?

When I try to revert to unmodded through the modinstaller, it tells me to validate integrity of game files and try again. But every time I do that it just reverts back to unmodded anyways, although it takes a while. How do I make the installer be able to revert back to unmodded?

you can either use the one that is labeled as the windows installer, it the Radiance Installer in the pins. many windows users prefer the Radiance UI

If you're in the same house, on the same network, then you can use your local ips, fwiw. Otherwise all of the basic troubleshooting and info you need is in the pinned multiplayer message.

There is a newer multiplayer mod that is more intuitive to use, but it's not currently on the installer. Here's a link for more info: https://github.com/Extremelyd1/HKMP

Yes it's possible. AFAIK there's only one saves folder though, so there's not a huge reason to if you're just on current patch.

right click on hollow knight in steam and browse local files

Usually its ur C: drive -> Program Files x86 -> Steam -> Steamapps->Common

And in there you should find a Hollow Knight folder. Delete it and reinstall. If it's not there, you're good to reinstall.

Make sure your installer exe is on your desktop.
Reset your installer (#archived-modding-help message)
go to your game files, and delete the Mods folder (Located at Hollow Knight->hollow_knight_data->Managed->Mods)
Run the installer again as admin.

You're eventually going to run into issues with mods while using a pirated version, btw.

I would recommend keeping an eye here for a sale on the game: https://isthereanydeal.com/search/?q=hollow+knight (the website is currently down for maintenance it looks like, but I assume it'll be back in an hour).

You'll need to make sure you're using either the Steam or GoG version (Which a few shops give keys to. Just avoid the Microsoft Store version).

No? But the website I linked crawls all major vendors looking for sales, so that if there's an issue with cost, that you can at least save money.

You'll probably want to switch to the real version before playing too much modded, because otherwise you'll probably run into issues down-the-road that are more of a problem to fix.

Also, MultiWorld uses it's own thing, and afaik it's not on the installer. Check the pinned messages in #randomizer for it
