for the other skins, do you have them in your custom knight folder?

Just make sure that you have them downloaded in your custom knight folder and they should appear on the left side of the screen as options when you are paused @novel bronze

So uhh it seems like ModInstaller crashes my game

I had an issue where suddenly none of my saves would load

#

Then by uninstalling and reinstalling the game, my saves came back

But when I reinstalled ModInstaller they were gone again

Well the installer has detected a pirated version somewhere on your device

#

Get rid of that version then look in the pins for how to reset the installer, and it will work

Then go into the hollow_knight_Data folder, then into the managed folder, then into the mods folder, and put the file in there

Then make sure you have modcommon installed on the mod installer, and open the game

I select the steam folder for hk when I try to install mod installer again but I think it says could not find hollow knight but the .exe is right there

Evening everyone. i have installed modinstaller and under that i installed debugmod. i created the text file within my modded version of the game. I also copied and pasted the exe and data folder to the new modded folder. I also added the game as a non steam game. So the game SHOULD launch from the modded version in steam. Unfortunately it launches the original version and makes that modded. I just want one file to practice save states in and one to be the most updated version of the game in another. So I don't entirely follow your process start to finish, but here's what I did which might help:

Copy/paste every HK file in the main folder to a new folder on my desktop named "Hollow Knight\1.4.3.2 Debug".
Ensured I had the appropriate HK file named "steamappid" or whatever.
Installed Mod Installer into the Hollow Knight folder on my desktop.
Told mod installer that my copy of HK is at the above location.
Download debug mod and various other mods required.
Added as a non steam game from here.

This was essentially the process I followed. The txt file with the steam app id might need remaking. That was an issue I ran into for some reason.

if you name images Hud1.png, Hud2.png and so on, customknight will ignore all of them
so you can only use one hud at a time
if you want, you can create multiple copies of the folder and just have the image Hud.png be different in all of them and swap between those skin folders to swap huds

I used the mod installer on mac. It could not find the install location (i installed the game on a separate drive). I skipped the interaction box. I would like to reset the installer. I dont know how. helP?

you probably have a controller plugged in, you need to plug it in after you reach the loading screen

@earnest slate @lilac mulch go to your user folder, command + shift + period to show hidden files, enter the folder .config, and delete HKInstallerSettings.json
alternatively, paste this into terminal and run it: rm ~/.config/HKInstallerSettings.json

Hi new to the mod thing. I beat HK on xbox one and wanted to try some cool stuff here. I downloaded the Mod Managerv8.6.0 and installed a few of the mods. I didnt make a backup of HK, should I reinstall? I have been clicking the install button on the mods in the mod manager and I dont technically know how its changing the orignal HK game.
