How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside

Common MacOS Problems & Fixes

🔹 Scarab doesn't open correctly on MacOS

  • Move the file you downloaded (mac.zip) to your Desktop
  • Double-Click it, and Scarabmaggotprime should appear
  • Right-Click the Scarabmaggotprime icon, and select "show contents"
  • Go into the MacOS folder, and then double-click the "Scarab" file.

🔹 ⚠️Scarab cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

  • In the Finder on your Mac, locate the app you want to open. Don’t use Launchpad to do this! It doesn’t allow access the shortcut menu.
  • Control + click the app icon, then choose "Open" from the shortcut menu.
  • Click "Open".
    The app is now saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it like normal.

🔹 Cannot Launch HK after updating MacOS or after changing patches!

I'm not sure to understand what you are trying to do, are you trying to manually install mods that are on scarab? Because if that's what you did then it's normal that scarab doesn't know, it doesn't actually check what's installed, it simply (tries to) remember what you installed or not with it, and the fact that the mods didn't appear as installed on scarab shouldn't prevent them from appearing in game

Generally, I assume that people are just looking on Scarab if they already have it.

But even then, if you don't know the name is "HKMP", then googling it doesn't super help. While the HKMP GitHub does come up, most things (including the GitHub) tend to refer to it as "hollow knight multiplayer" or "multiplayer mod", assuming they aren't just things referring to the old one. Really, the only way I'd expect someone to find out from googling, is if they watch one of the HKMP vids that fireb0rn has done, where he directly mentions it.

Hello! I was trying to install some mods, but the MoreDoors mod says it "Failed to call constructor." I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with it? Hi, I'm running the latest version and used Scarab to install this set of mods. The game loads fine and the mods appear to be functioning - modlist appears, debug mod overlay appears, I started a new game and had no issues all the way to Dirtmouth - however when I sat on the bench the game froze and crashed. Fstats shouldn't break anything (rando players use it daily) unless maybe it's incompatible with something you're using or maybe Scarab didn't install a dependency for ot (because scarab is unreliable like that)

I'm using the debug mod with save states on version 1.2.2.1 and was hoping I would be able to make a save state at each point that I wanted to practice some specific sections of the any% route. It seems like I can accomplish this with some combination of the one save state slot and dreamgates but was wondering if there was a way to have multiple save state slots.

Because if that is the case, don't install mods. Playing vanilla is recommended on your first playthrough.

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside

Hi, you don't need to downpatch, mods shouldn't corrupt your save but having backups is always a good idea (also some gameplay mods need a new save to work, and some that don't can edit your save, but you can undo these edits), and mods don't disable achievements (but there are rare cases of achievements being disabled for no understandable reason, but that's fixable)

Hello, I wanna get the True hunter achievement but there's one problem. In main game in didn't kill Grim. I just banished him out and didn't fight with him at the second time. In the main Transition mode, rooms won't be shown if you haven't been in them.

One of the other Transition modes should show them though. Then you just select the room that you want to route to.

Most likely part of why it was "broken" to begin with was because it was an old Rando file

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside

How to fix Installer Errors
🔹 Make sure Hollow Knight is CLOSED.
🔹 Make sure that all 4 installer files have been Extracted from the .zip and that the new folder isn't in your Downloads folder. (Extract the 4 files to your desktop)
