It looks like you're using an old version of randomizer that isn't on Scarab, you can disable it by opening your mods folder and deleting/moving the randomizer folder to the disabled folder

🔹 Common issues

Make sure that you apply skins from the Pause Menu (Options > Mods > Custom Knight), when you have your save file loaded.
If you have White Boxes ◻️, restart your game. You may also need to try applying the skin in a small/empty room, like a stag station.

🔹 Toggle "Controller Native Input" in the game, found at Main Menu ᐅ Options ᐅ Controller. Restart your game after changing it.
🔹 Unplug your controller before launching the game, then plug it back in on the title screen

Ok so actually it looks like a bunch of things changed since the guide came out, here's what I've found :
For the 2nd step the correct command is now cd Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common
But if your installation is similar to mine you can actually skip to step 4 by using this command :
cd Hollow\ Knight/hollow_knight.app/Contents/MacOS
./Hollow\ Knight
The last step will also be modified but I haven't tested it yet, wait a sec

You can edit various values of save files. Below are different available methods.

Website: https://bloodorca.github.io/hollow/
QoL mod: If you open a save file with QoL installed, you'll have an extra save file called user#.json, which can be edited using Notepad or a similar text editor.
MoreSaves mod: With the MoreSaves mod installed, you can edit save files from the Main Menu.
DebugMod: While not an intended purpose, you can edit some parts of your save file using Debug, such as Nail Damage, and those changes will remain even after uninstalling the mod.

Then your hk is probably located somewhere else. To know where, you can right click hk on steam then go to properties, local files, browse. It will lead you to where you hk app is. Right click it, click "show content", double click on Contents, then MacOS. Try to run the file, if that doesn't work, you can try to change the last command that I sent to you for terminal. you can right the file I told you to try to run to check its path, that you will need to replace in the command. There are a bunch of details to know though : your path can start at Library, no need to go before. The folders that belong to the system might need to use their english name, so they can be different from what you'll see if your system is in a different language. A \ must be added before the spaces in the names (you do it with alt+shift+:, be careful it isn't a /, for example Hollow Knight becomes Hollow\ Knight)

I have a very weird problem on my 112% save, my knight does like 8x damage for all bosses and I don't even have Fragile strength on my only damage boosting mod is for the nail arts to have strength applied to then. I turned my other mods off and it still persists so I was wondering what I could do. (this is only on my 112% save)

If you changed it with debug mod or something like that it modified the file (which isn't undone by uninstallling the mod) so you can either use debug to change it back or edit the file

This glitch can happen for a number of reasons make sure that all the reasons listed listed below don't apply to you.

🔹 Your game patch doesn't match the installer you used.

Scarab is made for patch 1.5.78+
Modinstaller 1 & 2 are made for version 1.4.3.2
there aren't installers for other patches.

🔹 Something didn't install correctly

Ensure that the installer is not still in a .zip file, and that it's not in your Downloads folder.
Run the installer as Administrator

hollowpirate Your game is pirated / illegitimate.
Piracy is not supported in most communities for games. Mods are not considered compatible with pirated copies, and you will not get troubleshooting support in any of the main servers for them.

HK Modding is only supported on the official versions from Steam, GoG, or the Microsoft Store.

(Additional info for those who would like to help KnightR4ge, because I've given up, sorry, they bought the game on steam, are on macOS High Sierra, with 4gb ram and idk which cpu, tried both 1.4 and 1.5 versions, and we didn't find the terminal command to launch the game, well, from terminal, either because the path was wrong or there was a typo somewhere or something changed regarding how terminal works between their OS and the current one)

Hollow Point doesn't work on new saves. Save and quit, then reload the save file.
Having multiple Gun Class charms equipped can also break the gun.

This is a known issue, and Custom Knight is not considered compatible with HP.
Here's steps that sometimes work for people (but if they don't, then you'll just need to play with the default skin):

Uninstall/Disable Hollow Point

Open the desired Save File, pause and Apply the skin in the Mods Menu.
Save and Quit, then close the game.
Re-enable Hollow Point.

Important things like charms and UI for example, don't seem to be dumped, and the files aren't named like in others' skins. Just scrambled letters and numbers.

Mods/Controller not working correctly on Steam Deck
Issue: Steam Deck installs the Windows version of HK, then runs it in proton. This would be fine except that you install Linux Scarab, which replaces the Assembly-Csharp with the Linux version, and then it doesn't like to work correctly on "Windows" anymore

Solution: Go to the HK Library page, select Properties -> Compatibility, check "Force the use of a specific steam play compatibility tool", and select "Steam Linux Runtime" (Note: not the sniper or soldier versions)

This will reinstall the Linux version of the game, and move some files around, so you'll need to select "Change Paths" in Scarab and change it to the new install path, then reinstall your mods. After this, everything should be working.

If you have another installation of the game somewhere make sure it's deleted, most people have this problem when they have previously had the game then purchased it and forgotten to delete the old one

additionally reinstalling the game will reset the game back to vanilla and will require the mod installer / scarab to be re-ran to install, if you still have issues, consider resetting the installer

I mean, it's somewhat a "compatibility issue".
Lightbringer was created before CK existed (or, at least before it was considered a "standard" mod to use).

There was no reason not to implement Lightbringer's skin the way that they did at the time.

753 did release a version that didn't have the skin, but it wasn't put into modlinks afaik, and thus wasn't the version that was ported

After installing, in order to actually use the mod
When the mod is correctly installed, you should see it at the top-left of your main menu, with the other mods you have installed.

If there is also some larger text that says "Load Enemy Randomizer", then press that button to randomize the enemies using the default settings (Note: you will need to wait a few minutes while this loads). If the button is not there, then go into Options > Mods, and Disable the mod, and then re-enable it. You will also need to close the game entirely, and re-open it.

HKMP only applies skins while connected to a server (unless that changed with this update, but I doubt it did).

You can use CK and HKMP together. One will just override the other (depending on which was last to apply a skin)

Yes. Players in your world damage things that they hit.

You cannot sync the bosses though.

Normally I'd suggest trying GhostHunter as well, but it won't work until Pouch has been updated for the HKMP update.

HKMP puts a copy of each player into each other players world. Enemies have separate health and can be in different places; items/abilities must be collected separately; breakable objects must be broken separately.
A player's attack will happen in each player's world, damaging any enemies/players it comes in contact with. A player is only hurt by the enemies in their own world.

Important note: "Invalid Addons" means that you have extra HKMP addons that can't be used on the server. Pouch servers can have any Addons that say that they require Pouch, but you otherwise cannot use others!
