I have a problem that is not entirely related to mods, but to the save editor (HKSM). The thing is, it just won't open for me! Not at all! I tried installing both the JDK (Java development kit) and updating Java itself to the latest version, but none of that worked! In the end, I decided to install a program that opens jar (Jarx) files, but it gives an error that I need to update Java, although I have the latest version. If anyone knows the solution to the problem can tell me what to do?

I already tried, but I didn't get the result I wanted. The fact is that I once installed the Easy mode mod, it seems to be called that, but I didn’t like that it removes the cost of amulets at all, I just wanted them to cost less, and I decided to remove it, but after I deleted it, I wanted to remove the amulets that I had, and I can’t do it, at all, and other amulets are not displayed when I put them on. Thus, the functionality of the game with amulets does not work correctly. So I guess I'll have to restart the game ☹

In rando > connections > rando levers you'll see it. If you turn it on when not randomizing levers it basically tells rando those "checks" exist allowing them to sync as vanilla items

So Scarab has been giving me this error when downloading custom knight, I tried searching for it on this channel but the only solution I found was opening Scarab.exe as an administrator, didn't work.

Specifications

  • Windows 10
  • Scarab v1.19.0.0
  • Original Hollow Knight from steam (not using any betas, latest version)
  • Yes I've extracted the .zip file from GitHub, and no, the folder wasn't in my downloads folder, I've moved it to desktop

What I've tried

  • Starting Scarab as an administrator
  • Using both the HKModInstaller_Reset.bat and the Global_Settings_Reset.bat files
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling Scarab

It seems this problem happens specifically with Custom Knight, as I've tried to download HKMP and it worked perfectly fine, anyone knows what I could do?

About this problem I had yesterday: I started to realise that when I started Scarab as an administrator, that blue bar at the bottom of the screen that indicated how much of the download is remaining, seemingly stopped at a random position every time.

The error message didn't always stopped the download at the exact same spot, sometimes it actually came pretty close to finish. So, with my massive brain I thought: "Well, eventually it might work"

So after about 17 tries of starting the download, getting the error and trying again, it worked.

If for some reason you have a slow / unstable internet, that could cause it

Scarab will time-out eventually if you stop getting a connection for a bit, and CK is a really large download

only a guess but it may be different depending on what your game resolution is? But also you can change the size of the HP bars, I believe it's outlined in the readme.

Have you tried deleting custom knight creator and re-downloading it like the error suggests? Making sure you're downloading the correct release for your operating system?
Also you can try using spritepacker instead. It's more stable than CKC (spritepacker is pinned in modding-discussion)

I'm assuming you're using custom knight. Make sure the file is named correctly. Look at the default skin for the correct names, and other skins for examples.

When the mod is correctly installed, you should see it at the top-left of your main menu, with the other mods you have installed.

If there is also some larger text that says "Load Enemy Randomizer", then press that button to randomize the enemies using the default settings (Note: you will need to wait a few minutes while this loads). If the button is not there, then go into Options > Mods, and Disable the mod, and then re-enable it. You will also need to close the game entirely, and re-open it.

Hey, im having issues with the scarab mod loader, i used to use the modinstaller loader but have decided to switch to scarab, but every time i tried to load up hk (with scarab, i deleted the other modinstaller) it said some sort of error and wouldn't load. I watched fireborns tutorial and copied it step by step but i cant get it to work, can anyone help?

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside
