🔸 Using QoL (Quality of Life) mod:

  • Locate user#.json (with # being the save slot number)
  • CTRL+F "focusMP_amount"
  • Set the value to 33

🔸 Without using another mod:

  • Go to https://bloodorca.github.io/hollow/
  • Go to your save files (type ?saves in chat if you don't know where that is)
  • Locate user#.dat (with # being the save slot number)
  • Upload that file to the website
  • CTRL+F "focusMP_amount"
  • Set the value to 33
  • "Download encrypted (PC)"
  • Rename it to the original filename (it will download as user1.dat, rename if you edited a different save slot.)
  • Move the file back to the save file folder (and overwrite the old one)."

If you want to actually run it, then you'll want to join the Speedrun server (pinned in #speedrunning ) and check the resources there. There's a very specific mod that's allowed for IL runs like PoP

Having issues with Custom Knight. I've loaded up the game and installed a few skins. I put the skins in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\Mods\Custom Knight/Skins
Where I assumed it would be. But for some reason, I have two Custom Knight folders. One called "Custom Knight" and "CustomKnight" I assume from my previous mod experience. The game is only reading the "Custom Knight" folder it seems. But when I try to change my skin, nothing happens.

You shouldn’t have two folder… maybe it has something do to with the mods you previously installed, so make sure to remove all of those

Two folders does come from using CK on 1432, where it made the folder for skins in the root directory

ok so I was trying to get started with modding my game, followed the video in the pinned messages, and after getting scarab and everything working normally, I installed custom knight and went to open my game via steam, but it said it encountered a crash and I can't seem to open my game at all. 🔹 How it works:

HKMP puts a copy of each player into each other players world. Enemies have separate health and can be in different places; items/abilities must be collected separately; breakable objects must be broken separately.
A player's attack will happen in each player's world, damaging any enemies/players it comes in contact with. A player is only hurt by the enemies in their own world.

Anyone have any experience with these mods on a steam deck? I got Scarab to work fine but I'm trying to get Enemy Randomizer to work and can't figure it out. Seems like it won't install or open.

I already reported this here (and it got lost), but I keep getting some crashes with my game after some graphical bug happens. I tried reinstalling the game and all my mods multiple times, but nothing fixes it. There is nothing in my modlog (the file updates when I open the game but not when the bug or crash happen), but I do have a crash report created by Unity. Can I send it here to get some help? The error is Attempt to access invalid address..

It never happened on an unmodded run, and I tried disabling a few mods without any luck. Basically, some layer of the game disappears and I sometimes get flashing and fast moving objects, and then when I try to quit to menu I get a crash screen from Unity

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside

This is a known issue, and Custom Knight is not considered compatible with HP.

This glitch can happen for a number of reasons make sure that all the reasons listed listed below don't apply to you.

🔹 Your game patch doesn't match the installer you used.

  • Scarab is made for patch 1.5.78+
  • Modinstaller 1 & 2 are made for version 1.4.3.2
  • there aren't installers for other patches.

🔹 Something didn't install correctly

  • Ensure that the installer is not still in a .zip file, and that it's not in your Downloads folder.
  • Run the installer as Administrator

If you want to actually remove all but a few of them, then it'd most likely be a long process of clicking each bind and then pressing Escape to Unbind it.

You can probably edit the Global Settings file for it to remove them, but I'm unsure if you can just remove the entire entries, or if you need to set them to a value to represent being unbound

I'm having trouble with Custom Knight and (somewhat) Scarab in general.

  • Custom Knight won't load skins
  • Custom Knight gets an "exception occurred while trying to toggle custom knight error"
  • This issue started when I updated Scarab to the most recent version

I've tried just about everything to fix the issue that I could think of, and I'll list them.

  • Disabling every other mod besides Custom Knight
  • Uninstalled/Reinstalled Custom Knight
  • Uninstalled/Reinstalled Scarab
  • Reset Global Settings files
  • Reset Mod Installers
  • Manually attempted to clear the settings files (Now, when I try to run .bat resets, it shows there is no corresponding files. Yes, I tried to uninstall/reinstall Scarab after this too. And whenever I run the .bat resets, I have to manually "update" all of the mods on Scarab again)
  • Tried downgrading Scarab (didn't work)
  • Uninstalled/Reinstalled Hollow Knight
  • Deleted the Custom Knight folder and tried reinstalling Custom Knight

How to fix Installer Errors
🔹 Make sure Hollow Knight is CLOSED.
🔹 Make sure that the installer has been Extracted from the .zip and that the new folder isn't in your Downloads folder.

Yes, I made sure I had satchel & it was installed after I cleared Scarab. I can double check though.

If it helps solve anything, when custom knight is on, it does show up in the mod menu in Hollow Knight, but won't load any skins, but still gives the same error when I try to turn it off & on in Scarab. I have had no trouble uninstalling/reinstalling the mod.
