Can I do anything against || the balloon spike attacks in hive knight boss battle ?||

generally (going to assume that you have 3 ||spells||) ||only use wraiths when its safe to do so (ie right after a sword burst, right after a beam burst). dive can be used on floor spikes in phase 2, try to remain on the ground for orbs if possible (dodging them consistently is just a matter of knowing how their movement works, so it may take a while). generally start phase 3 with a wraiths then do 1 maybe 2 nail hit per sword wave. for phase 4, only move platforms if necessary (not often) and wait for her to come to you for damage (following her is viable but youll have to be pretty confident). phase 5 is just jumping before a beam forms and using wings as it strikes (which should give a big enough window to react to the cue and dodge it)||

||sly is very consistent (& honestly pretty simple imo). for the 3 swing combo, just walk away from him and punish the ending with 1 or 2 hits (1-2 hits for a punish is consistent with most of his moves). for great slash, dash out as soon as the indicator shows and dash in after to get hits in. for cyclone, either pogo or use a very tight dive for iframes. just jump over dash slash, and stay just out of range when he drops down for a hit to bait out the second hit. for phase 2, just use a great slash on every spin and he should go down pretty fast. id also recommend maybe practicing hornet sentinel a little more if 3-5 masks is what sly is being started with||

btw a general tip that i can give you is that when you are fighting a boss, dont move around randomly trying to dodge attacks, you should stay close to the boss and try to understand his attacks and dodge only when is necessary.

if you spam left right or jump continuosly you will take damage

if you stay still and wait for him to attack and then dodge while you are close to a boss is easier

if youre using ||heart, shell should just be a slightly tighter p5 (made easier with what i would assume is 5 lifeblood). charm doesnt really change that much (though collector summons are no longer 1 shots, so cyclone or fireballs may have to be used there), it just makes fights take longer (not much i can really say for it)||

well aside from ||sharp shadow|| simply being not good ||(a single nail hit of damage for two notches, inconsistent dash patterns, etcetc) i specificially dont recommend it for this fight because its the tutorial of how to use shade cloak, the boss itself is quite simple when you learn how to actually use it and sharp shadow is only going to built bad habit n reliance, so as good as it may be for this fight specifically the domino effect it causes is enough cons to overthrow the pro||

now for the actual boss itself, ||dont rush it, look closely at its attacks and youll see he has about 3 total, the dash and jump both can be avoided easily, either by walking under him or simply jumping and dashing or jumping and pogoing, youll also notice that your shadow dash perfectly recharges between every single attack, so if you cannot read an attack well or dont have the time to avoid it you can always use your shade cloak, i really suggest you learn that||
||theres also the spinning scythes attack but that only happens when you are too far from the boss, so try to keep a medium-close distance and only go far away to bait that attack if you really need to heal||

Kind of a long message and i’m kind of unsure if this should be in hk-lore or hk-help but hear me out.

I just beat the game (first the ||sealed siblings|| ending, and after some hours of suffering also beat ||radiance||). I don’t think I get the plot entirely, but here is what I think it is, based on a single, 89% completion run and zero research. Could someone evaluate how correct I am, without spoiling too much?

||Wyrm, an ancient, undying creature, somehow got killed in his prievious form, reforming him in to the pale king. The pale king moved to the mountains, where he attempted to create a civilized, intelligent kingdom. This unnatural «brightness» and order however, disrupted the balance and created a being of pure light known as the radiance. The radiance slowly infected the kingdom, turning intelligence in to mindlessness. To save the kingdom, Wyrm contacted an ancient civilization in the abyss of the mountains. These beings were seemingly filled with nothingness. They were unthinking creatures of pure void, and Wyrm hoped that this dark emptiness could outpower the light of the radiance. The king of the void, called the hollow knight by wyrm, agreed to contain the radiance. He betrayed his people by ordering a mass slaughter and channeling all of the void from them so that he could resist the radiance, and was then sealed up in the black egg, locked by three powerful beings. ||

||sly is very consistent (& honestly pretty simple imo). for the 3 swing combo, just walk away from him and punish the ending with 1 or 2 hits (1-2 hits for a punish is consistent with most of his moves). for great slash, dash out as soon as the indicator shows and dash in after to get hits in. for cyclone, either pogo or use a very tight dive for iframes. just jump over dash slash, and stay just out of range when he drops down for a hit to bait out the second hit. for phase 2, just use a great slash on every spin and he should go down pretty fast.||
