||failed champion can either do a forward jump or a backward jump. if he jumps forward directly at u, then u need to either dash under him or dash out of the way of the mace swing. if he jumps but doesnt jump directly at u (so either backwards or sometimes straight up), keep some distance away from him since he is about to slam his mace down for shockwaves||

||5 hrs is way more than enough time to pick up ddark and perhaps even shade soul, so it is surprising to me that u have none of those. but at this point it might be too late to be going around picking up more upgrades. if anything, if u have dive already u should just go for ddark instead of another mask first. then based on ur time situation u might be able to get in another mask or perhaps shade soul||

i planned on getting ||shade soul after i got the dreamers and when i went to soul sanctum i forgot i didnt buy the key from sly soo i just decided to go and try to beat the hollow knight ig ima go pick it up now + ddark and prob an extra mask i alr got like 2 mask shards||

if u r on pc there is a chance that ur backup somehow isnt up to date with ur save which will allow u to load into an older version of ur save, but that isnt really an auto save system but rather just a way to recover a save, so its also quite likely that the backup is fully caught up with ur save file and that loading the backup will do nothing. lastly, u can try to save edit (also pc only), but that gets a bit complicated depending on what u r trying to revert, since sometimes its not immediately obvious what certain flags do in the save file

||u need to be reactive to his jump trajectory. if he jumps right at u, obviously just dodge it. usually u just dash under his jump. if he does any other jump other than jumping directly at u, he is going to do the shockwave attack. in that case, keep ur distance and jump over the shockwaves. be aware of any falling barrels from above while dodging the shockwaves.||
