That's why. The game does not play nice with mouse key binds. If you want to keep using mouse, you'll have to use blue.exe to bind mouse buttons to keyboard keys. That program is in the Speedrun server in pins

hello this is my fist time on discord but I wanted to say that when I was playing hollow knight I discovered that if you use long nail and mark of pride together then you can open some doors that have levers on the other side without going around to the other side, which means you can skip a lot of the game

Dying is really detrimental to the run. And often you don’t get nearby benches so it can be really time consuming getting back to the boss

learning the route is the biggest first step and takes a lot of time

This depends on the category you are interested in running. If you are interested in running current patch categories, obviously downpatching is rarely necessary. If you are interested in running on older patches, then yes you should downpatch from the start (given, downpatching isn't hard at all)

It's important to get the transdash off the small platform otherwise you won't be far enough left, and will be too high too early

Transdash is when you dash into a wall from a short distance and buffer a walljump

It pushes you away from the wall a bit
