Heyyy everyone! 👋 need some advice... I am on my first steel run (my regular run is at 110%), am at 3.5 hours more or less. After leaving it parked for months because I couldn't get through the knights with barely any upgrade (trying also to finish under 5h), I decided to make it a battle of attrition instead of head on slashes. I was following fireborn's guide for setting up the game, and I don't know if maybe it is outdated, but I am trying to set up the practice folder, and when I try to add the modding API it does not show on the corner of my game when I open it after following the instructions, I am on steam and Im trying to downpatch to 1.2.2.1

I copy and paste my HK folder, name one as "Hollow Knight Debug", download the windows API for 1.2.2.1, drag from the zip into the debug folder and it should show the Modding API text on the corner of my screen

The modded board doesn't allow custom knight, which I have active, not to mention some other garbage mods which I didn't remove (Also I'd be last place on QOL Any% NMG anyway, so I wouldn't exactly be adding much to the board anyway lol!)

My time was ~1:10 and pretty much everyone on QOL's modded board is in the 30-40 minute area

So if your playing on 1.4 or 1.5 and know the enemy pogo then it looses 4-6 sec

The only thing I know is that quickslash allows you to swing every 0.28 seconds, or 0.25 if you turn around

moss knights make the city geo less annoying and also allow for skipping the first devout in beasts den so its very nice qol but not worth worrying about much if you're a new runner since you'll most likely be picking up too much geo anyway
