Shakra doesn’t alr have a species right
I feel like she’s a little bit wasplike
What if she’s an actual hornet
She’s literally some kind of stinging insect yeah
Eh I mean she doesn’t sting herself
the choir used to visit here, never noticed that
We don't really know yet, but it's a cool guess
Are we thinking water level segment or nah
Yeah there are both weaver and citadel architectures here
Wdym?
she doesnt, people say wasp but her tail looks more like a dragonfly, which is why i say antlion because we see antlions with tails like that
Usefully for Hornet, each member of the clan also hones a Craft-Skill
Forgot TC said this about Shakra. Guess Hu honed healing
orange antlion is my favorite theory for what shakra is rn
but that will be confirmed or refuted with lion village i suppose
Is that a Weaver cage in the trailer? Are we going to see more Weavers?
WHAT IF Shakra is indeed an antlion, and we're getting their village and we'll see a wedding
:0
I mean there's also the elevator on the left of the mount that was built by the choir
Between Hornet and Shakra… you’re so right…
these guys only have spots on wings, which shakra lacks anyway
My evidence for parasitoid wasp: note the long antennae and shape of the ovipositor (shape matches the ichneumon’s wasp most closely)
Why a wedding?
Hornet and Shakra wedding, questions?
Vespa also doesn't have wings and she us named after a wasp, so i dont think biological accuracy is a concern
Shakra seems to be able to teleport and/or hold cool poses on the air so I actually headcanon that the wings are there but they’re just a pain to draw so they’re stylized out
I support this
Shakra and Hornet is the only ship i except
🔥
considering what parasitic wasps do to spiders i hope not for hornets sake. hornet doesnt need another woman trying to give her parasites in her life.
Nah I would think Shakra wouldn’t do that without consent, the author of a twisted bud focused fic played with it wonderfully lore wise
What if the lifeblood outbreak reaches shakra's village and that's why hornet goes there in this dlc
They could place the village next to the wormways for this to make sense
And Hornet is half spider half worm half fork names after a hornet
Me too ❤️
Pharloom Bay is on the opposite side of Pharloom from the Wormways
The bay doesn't need to be the only new area
I honestly think the village is somewhere in the marrow, cause i don't know where else it could be
hi birdy
Hornet and shakra is nice but hornet and second sentinel is also peak
since ships were mentioned earlier
Its supposed to be on the edges pf pharloom
I don't remember if the marrow was on an edge
Why does bro have 1 max health
Maybe somewhere next to moss grotto, considering shakra trades with the villagers, but all the spots are filled with something else so idk
If she is a parasitoid wasp you can have the ship dynamics get interesting. Does she have thoughts about Grayroot, about having kids (or not), things like that
hornets needle landed a little to the right in the intro
Yeah i know, thats why im so confused cause all the edges already have something. And realistically she would start on a zone close to her village, but idk where the entrance could be?
im curious about these plants, some are wing shaped and then we have these plant looking snowflake puffs. Are the wing leaves from fayforns influence? we know powerful bugs even non gods have influence of their environment.
No double damage mod lmao
the puffs might be snowflakes, but they look like plants
I thought they were those flower things that float in the air
From dandelions
I might be talking out of my ass, but i can kinda remember the art assets for these things calling them feathers, so i think they are shedded fayforn feathers
Fay Ferns
also wtf are these and why do they have silk
Actually what are those called in the files
Just a plant that cathes silk
It kinda looks like a spider made its web on that flower
Silkblooms
Silkplants, but we see them all across pharloom not just on the mount
I gotta look up, I'll let you know if I remember to
if silk is from gms how tf are plants making it
Is that what the sprite is called?
Read what i said again
The same way weavers do, perhaps
Yes, all those pinwheel plants are called silkplants
This is snow
I thought that too originally
Makes more sense
oh your spelling confused me, i thought you misspelled creates, not catches.
But it is snow
I never said it makes silk, i said it catches silk thats in the air
A half of the bench is covered in it, and the other isn't
you said it cathes, to be fair, thought you meant creates.
What are those tiny crystals growing in the background 🤔
So it's snow
Magnetite?
This is why the game took 7 years to male
and pinstress is also covered by it so its definitely snow, and snowflakes
also, thats a huge ass mask bros making
It could be the ice stuff that you break
The mematic crystals are all over mount fay
Prolly just a rock. Magnetite is a regenerative material that is able to reassemble after getting destroyed, and there's also another material, called coldshard, which is what Brightvein is filled with
And which is what mnemonids and memonords are made of
No magnetite is the magnetic blue rock, the grey crystals are mematic
Yeah, def
Mematic? What's that?
Made with mematic
I don't remember that tbh
Just it remembers its shape, i think hornet calls it that in the journal
i just realized gilly is probably wearing one of mask makers masks.
Yeah, I know what magnetite is, it's what the reassembling platforms are made of
Time to interview gilly for lore
I don't recall this material
I was joking
Do you remember the app
Mematic
For making memes
It had a watermark "madw with mematic"
I do, but damn thats a long time ago
I mean I’m pretty sure it’s the special crystal those enemies are made of right?
Yeah coldshard
No sorry I won't know what that is
Coldshard, as well the Brightvein itself
Magnetite
But how exactly are the coldshard flies alive? Those are truly a mystery
It's awkward that there's literally no coldshard entry in Materium
Someone theorized that they were frozen versions of that bug you hit with your claw line to parkour in mt fay
Magic lol
I think it will in the future, but we atleast have the tool so
Yeah, fair
It's also prolly the source of cold
Hornet just calls it stone with mnemonic properties
Ok i just realized
There is LIGHTNING in the bay
What in the actual hell is creating the LIGHTNING?
me
i was the lightning before the thunder
Its not voltwyrm lighting, like blue charged lumafly lighting?
Idk if im gonna sound weird but this song brings me uncomfortable flashbacks of the squirrel 🥲
And clouds
Literally
You can see them in the background
In the lab* 🤓☝️
It's more like storm lightning
Almost like..
|| The land of storm ||
it's like shes in some king of "Snow grave"
It's quite weird
But the ocean is in a large cavern where exactly is the lightning coming from??
*voltvyrm
☝️ 🤓
And what exactly do we think the new crest is gonna be? Like a lifeblood crest or is there any other crest that we saw through the years that it may be?
Eepy
We already have plasmified state for all crests so i dont think a plasmium crest woul do us any good? But idk what else it could be?
Sky, or, perhaps, something different
I guarantee there will be some magic fuckery eventually
Ahahahha
plasmified shakras master goes crazy
Similarly to the Mt. Fay snow
Nah i think its most likely gonna be charged silkflies or something
Cause it's prolly not from the surface, or at least we don't really know if MF is even connected to it
Only magic consisting in hk is soul and dreams, maybe even void if you're feeling adventurous
Prolly Alchemist's Crest focused on some new mechanic
Yeah thats obvious but what mechanic?
I bet it would be focused on spells, somehow
But differently from the Shaman's
Also something about the lab reminds me a lot of first sinners cage, i don't know if its just me?
I also felt like it looked like a cage, but looking at the scale I'd say it's most likely just a structure
Plus it has Windows
And one of them is actually broken
Could the dlc be linked to the land of storms in hk?
Lighthouse?
A voltage difference
I think its on the surface
Like a valley
Pharloom is in a mountain
interestingly enough since maidens refers to the pinstresses i imagine the term is often used to describe warriors, maybe sherma caller hornet red maiden is more of a compliment to hornets combat prowess.
The lifeblood spire
Have we even seen true surface in either game?
Both look like they're still inside a larger cave
Idk
I say 'no'
I assumed that the world had no sun
Just looked up a video relating to land of storms lore and i think the silk dlc will have something to do with it
is there any actual evidence to Elder Hu being from the same tribe as Shakra? I really love the theory, but I don't have much other than attire to back it up
His fighting style
All we got on the land of storms is the godseekers
Like the animation of his ring like things
their attacks look similar - the glowing rings
truee
Would be weird for Hornet to just be tossed into a completely different kingdom though
also Hu looks a bit like some native Pharloom bugs, like those ones in deep docks with the shields
The video i watched said there was lightning and rain higher beings (pls fact check it)
is there any dialogue to back it up?
well shakra's tribe isn't from pharloom, so that doesn't help much
I don't think we should assume Land of Storms just because there was a place with a storm
Its true, but we don't know if they were actual higher beings or fake gods
The godseeker calls them fakd iirc
it's pretty close as I understand it - I think there's a line about this in her items
and the deep docks bug I mean might come from a similar region
Those were the ones originally worshipped by the godseekers
The gods take revenge
guys guys
okay am I going crazy or did I just see godseeker technology
It's called the Lab, so prolly.. the lab?
voided enemies have twice as much health
which is why the knight takes half as much damage as hornet 😎
It just seems like there is a link between god of rain and lightning and the new dlc
I'd say yes, Nameless Town is THE surface
I really don't think it's that deep
The looks kinda remind me of the bindings
Then why does it still look like a cave, with no sun or stars
I don't understand why people don't want to accept the Surface being in the place called the surface
What did i say i can't remember?
Because HK's surface isn't a surface either
Who said there is a sun or stars?
cloud
Why spells
What
And the lightning...
Seems likely that we get godseeker lore!
And that etv is canon...
because the knight already killed the sun lmfao
The Radiance is not the fucking sun
Oh yeah, i already made my point so i didn't want to bother
calm down jeez
Or it means it isn't canon. Or we don't get anything related to shade lord
it was the journal!
Warrior cartographer of a tribe from Pharloom's edge. Her skills in battle could challenge the kingdom's best.
Ohh okay
Godseekers aren't the only lightning associated beings, as i have pointed out the blue lighting reminds me a lot of the charged lumaflies.
The lab storm shown in the trailer is implied to have coulds
Also this, lightning doesn't mean the gods of thunder or whatever
You can make clouds anywhere, really, we have an entire area called "the fog"
Yeah, gods of Rain and Thunder
I don't think there were clouds
It is a trailer, but it stil shows us a detailed look at the lab. We can see the lab has nodes for absorbing lightning
Taking a closer look at the bind thing it may not be godseekers? Idk
Fog is clouds, be it of water or polluted toxic watery waste
And I don't think we've ever seen something similar to this anywhere except for the land or storms
*the mist
True

i love this pilgrim, they are so fuckin weird looking
Yeah that too
Still a type of cloud
smash
What bind?
Wait where is it said that it's a lab?
Me too
fog canyon
Like the circular thing on the machine
💀
Huh??
I said the notch in the middle vaguely reminds me of a godhome bind
Like the uh
The ones on top of the pantheons
No, it's not it most likely
Like pantheon binds
Do you mean the crest?
Dang it team cherry you tricked me
The lab is most likely not related to them
No godhome :(
The rest of the architecture doesn't really look godseeker-y
We won't get Godhome almost certainly
Team cherry could have put a third beastfly in memorium, i know that took a lot of restraint
It looks like a citidel structure, reminds me a lot of the first sinner cage
yall think the original owner of the reaper crest was part of the grimm troupe?
The Boss Rash DLC would be something completely unrelated to them
That's much more fitting with the overall design
No, why?
No
Like the locks on the pantheon doors?
The ones that light up when you complete it with a nail bind and all that, yes
Cause idk what your talking about
Dude the pantheon bindings, it's not that hard
Oh yeah i understand
Geez sorry, no need to be a prick
I said it vaguely reminded me of them
Okay and is that blue stuff lifeblood leaves?
Yeah
Plus there's a Needolin dialogue suggesting the reapers lived in Greymoor specifically
because of how the reaper crest attacks look awfully similar to grimm. We know hornet obtaining crests is from her taking the person's fighting style and "soul" into herself. How would this random person fight so similarly to grimm without some sort of relation to him?
Have you seen the acmi screenshot yet?
We don't even know if it's lifeblood, but most likely it is, it would be wild for it to be anything other than that
No?
Aren't the reapers the ones collecting the silk?
The fuck you mean the reaper crest attacks look awfully similar to grimm
Ohh this
90% of grimm's attacks are just magic
bro stop swearing at me please
LIFEBLOOD DLC
Yeah, I thought you were going to go to that, I think it's an interesting similarity, but most likely a coincidence or TC just not wanting to, what's called, reinvent the wheel
Trying to stop swearing on the internet is not a good hill to die on
I believe yeah, that's not what they're called in the journal though
It doesn't, its very superficial. Yall are looking too deep into it
I think all of the greymoor bugs collectively are called the reapers
Again, which attacks exactly?
Yeah
all i'm doing is asking you to stop swearing at me, my dude
Oh, yeah, I actually just remembered a lore tablet in Greymoor with the oath of reapers, or something like that
the interent is not a good excuse to be rude. we're all vibing here, are we not?
The upwards attack and I'm pretty sure the drill tool?
The charged reaper attack, and the one where Grimm jumps before casting fireballs on the entire arena
They're really quite similar
But I don't think it matters
It's just a coincidence
All look very similar, until you realize its not
If anything that's coincidental at most
There is no other connection to be made
You can only do so much with white slashes
No, they are kinda similar
grimm + reaper
MAYBE something with wisp thicket but that's a big maybe
But yeah
Wdym +
Whatch it again, its not, as said its very superficial
There's no lore connection though, as much as I agree with you on the visual similarity
Exactly
The only basis for the surface being underground argument is that it "looks like a cave"
I'm aware that it's all speculation. I still don't think it's an impossibility that they're related in some way
But its always called the surface
I don't have a clip of them being shown back to back rn, so I don't want to argue about that, as far as I remember they're quite similar, at least when shown back to back
The world just has an empty sky
also whoever said there's dialogue pointing to grimm being from greymoor. I have no idea what they're talking about, but they're probably onto something xD
People who try to make reaper and grimm connections, yall are cooking:
thank you, thank you
Yeah, cooking crack
Grimm is the vessel of a dream god
Why would he have a place of origin
a very skillful trade, mind you
Is the reaper corpse even remotely similar to a troupe bug?
No
Exactly
There's absolutely no basis whatsoever to consider something like that other than two attacks looking kinda similar
Yeah there's not enough evidence yet
I keep thinking your pfp is seth at first glance, then I get disappointed
The needolin dialogue talks about them being related to Greymoor, I believe, can't find it rn
Please for the sake of everyone who has collectively decided Shakra is a wasp, be wrong about the antlion theory (I mean I don’t mind it if Shakra is but it’ll throw off peoples’ fanfics lol)
And I can bet my head and keep it that there won't ever be
No, I was talking about a Needolin dialogue related to REAPERS being from Greymoor
aww xD
People are saying Shakra is a wasp?
Why would it throw it off?
I thought it was just common knowledge that she’s a wasp but I suppose her species isn’t actually stated anywhere
I'll be coming for your head someday then
It's not common knowledge that she's anything, tbh
We have no clue who she is
Unless there's a direct proof
She doesn't have wings and her master looks nothing like a wasp
Anybody can look like anything in HK and be anything at the same time
I always thought it a stylistic thing
Shakras kind of looks like a stereotypical hk bug but she's tall and has body segments
“Fleas don’t look anything like fleas, they’re too fluffy”
These are all just the purest of the purest speculations
team cherry designs their characters with bugs as inspiration. shakra doesn't have to be any real life bug in particular
That too
Yeah, and fleas are just stated to be fleas, if they weren't, god knows what we'd call them
Maybe still fleas
There's no way to know any bug's species unless proven directly
That too
I thought it was because fleas live in other animals' fur
yeah but they're named "fleas". until TC changes shakra's name to "wasp", that arguement doesn't really hold water
Shakra aint a wasp, looks more like dragonfly, or more likely a antlion. But the point is she isnt supposed to look like anything in particular, shes just a bug
There's no reason why every single bug should resemble or even parallel any real insect
Shakra wasn't stated to be anything, if they confirm her as a wasp then she's a wasp, otherwise we can't really affirm anything outside her looks
yup
Antlion??
Yeah, that
If Shakra was a wasp, Hornet would've definitely commented on it
Yeah
Might be, she might as well be a Scorpion or a tallwomanbug
Use the grown stage
We really don't onow
Wyrms are clearly inspired by the common housebug "Prophetical Divine Dragon-King Master of Eternity" though
ooo that second one
shakra's a TallWomanBug
problem solved
an antlion isn't even close to what she looks like. Neither it's fully grown nor larvea stage
Ahahahahaha precisely
Naw she doesn’t look like a dragonfly or antlion to me at all, she’s not Long Boi enough, doesn’t have the trademark compound eyes of dragonflies either.
She might be that, or might not be
nah I still don't see it
They don't share anything with shakra
Shakra's mother
I would be quicker to believe the wasp theory
Because atleast wasps have segmented body's
It matches my theory that she was based on a dragonfly, considering antlions look a lot like dragonfly
Besides, aren't dragonflies a thing already?
…okay I might see your point but I’m still skeptical. Her tail is long but it’s not that long ya know
Yeah but dragonflys in hk share traits with shakra
To me brutally frank, these don't look exactly like mantis either
although they do resemble them
Bugs can be repeated with different looks
Unn and nuu
Mantises and green prince
But not like a striking resemblance, imo
ok if they're called the MANTISES, there's not much doubt that they're disigned after the praying mantis
It is have you seen shakra
What dragonflies?
And once again its stylistic, not supposed to be accurate
Consider: paper wasp
Revek
Yeah, but what I'm saying is that despite being Mantises, they don't look exactly like them, so if we didn't know their species, we would just speculate
Or whatever his name was
The green prince does look kinda similar to the male mantis designs from HK, and Unn and Nuu is clearly intentional, name and all
We need more Nuu lore
Do we know they are a dragonfly?
Ignore the ghost if you dont wanna except it as a dragonfly, but my point still stands
That dragonfly connection isn't half bad
damn hornet really got the hourglass figure, huh?
The second thing is def a dragonfly, yeah
What about the moth guy in sk that lets you play a target shooting minigame in the marrow
Compared to hallownest moths
Not really hahahaha
She's a snail btw
That's not the slab
I just thought about that
Green Prince looks like Locust tbh,
I meant marrow
Isn't the shell a backpack?
I don't think he really does though
Cloth is apparently a locust
or grasshopper
He doesn't have clearly defined claws unlike Traitor Lord
If shes a snail, she matches bug type with shamans
If slug, she matches with unn
So my point still stands
That is more likely, but we already have Plinney
Oh, yeah, no he doesn't
We do see some grasshoppers in queens gardens
I gaslit myself
i mean we have multiple species that are unrelated but still both species like mites vary you guys
Yeah, but like
If we’ve been wrong about Shakra being a wasp this whole time then we can have funny fanart about Hornet mistaking Shakra for a wasp (projecting hive nostalgia)
Yeah
Oh, perhaps she's more of a slug, yeah
Hermit slug
?
You mean Loddie?
I always figured that nuu is kinda like salubra, yknow with the kissing and everything
Isn't he a ladybug?
That's a good point
Yeah, he is
Idk their name
thee can be multiple species with similar names https://hollowknight.wiki/w/Tarmite https://hollowknight.wiki/w/Miremite https://hollowknight.wiki/w/Shardmite https://hollowknight.wiki/w/Drapemite https://hollowknight.wiki/w/Mites
Tarmites are enemies in Hollow Knight: Silksong. They are small, bony, flying bugs with an orange glowing interior.
Miremites are enemies in Hollow Knight: Silksong. They are small, crawling bugs with a bulbous green abdomen.
Shardmites are enemies in Hollow Knight. Formerly used in Crystal Peak's mining operations, these creatures now wander around on walls, feeding on crystal dust.
Mites or mite-beasts are verminous pests with sharp fangs found in vast numbers in Pharloom. They are found primarily within the dark corners of Greymoor, but can also be found in the Sinner's Road.
Similar pests to mites could be found in Hallownest, where they would gnaw at unguarded food supplies. Mite as a term has been used to refer to othe...
My bad
Brilliant point
thanks
Oh yeah salubra is also a slug
I completely forgot about them
So there's 3 slugs, and all look different
Also, Moorwing, flutenmite, mite, mitemother..
i mean only one of them is confirmed but yes
OMG I've literally never seen these
Same
flutenmite?
What are these
Are they from Queen's Garden though?
i remember them, wow cordyceps made it's way in HK universe too, i thought
I assumed a parallelism with Unn because of her name (and she looks like a tinier, pink version of Unn)
They are, they are right next to the pale king statue bench
Fluttermite*
oh, yeah, you are right
OMG what..???
Nah imo thats a reaper×grimm level comparison
Bruh
Not really
it is more of callback than anything yeah
Nuu is literally Unn inverted
The name is obviously similar
The name matches
The species matches
Thats much more evidence than grimm + reapet = grimm reapet
Whattt
What species??
???
Unn and nuu
Hell nah 😭
I think he means the general aspects are reminiscent of each other, they're both slugs with portruding black eyes
Yall are reading to much into it imo. That logic would connect salubra with unn. It aint that deep
Unn and Nuu aren't confirmed slugs tbh, Salubra is
Bur they're very likely to be slugs
Why
Except salubra has a wholly different body than Nuu or Unn
sure, ig
My favorite enemy, at least top 5
So are all the fleas, whats your point?
multiple species exist with similar names, wouldn't be surprising
Anyway
The original discussion was about shakra's species
We got distracted
Unn and Nuu have similar eyes, only similarity, name matching is fun addition, doubt it is meant to be taken seriously
Isn't the conclusion to that that it can't really be determined?
I agree with that
Its just a generic bug, maybe inspired, but not exactly a specific real bug
I'm not saying they're the same, but there are clear parallels
We kinda came to it like 20 minutes ago
OMG
My bad
I thought we didn't get a conclusion
but those parallels likely end at being parallels
Unn and Nuu
How? Nuu is more a paralel with salubra than anything with unn.
Sure would be fun if Nuu was an avatar of Unn because she really really liked Hornet but there's zero evidence to suggest that (or anything of such caliber)
Yeah, still fun to point them out
it is fun callback yes
The unn and nuu stuff is cool
I wish we had more evidence
How exactly do you draw more parallels between salubra and Nuu
They look nothing alike other than having lips
I know I'm slower than any slug species
I realized it immediately upon seeing Nuu and had a good laugh
No, you're fine, the conclusion is that we don't know and all discussions are purely speculative
:))
Ahahahaha
But the most important question is what are these
Trypophobiaphags
Ancient bugs adapted to the void I guess
Prolly, but gloomsacs are described as predatory
They are predators

And they haunt their prey by sucking it in basically
They may prey on the only other bug found down there
What did they even predate on
But who is the prey?
Exactly
The abyss tiktiks?
Yet they still have some energy
Its such a strange thing that tc mentioned
Like what
They give soul when struck
Whta are they trying to convey
And they still have mass
Hmmm true
That things are weird down there
That they're void, most likely
Void does seem to have a purpose
I don't think they're entirely void since, as I said, they do provide soul
So it just shows that they don't have these basic features of living creatures
while things like Siblings and Collector do not
Soul in their shell
Just like vessels
Hmm true
Vessels aren't entirely void either
Shades are
True
And gloomsacs are the only thing Hornet mentions being scared of
True, yeah
Shes half pale
So she might be instinctively scared of void
They are terrifyingly simple
Void vs pale
AhHaha
Two competing explanations
This one sounds most reasonable ahahahahha
I mean, yeah, she does freak out when the void gets involved but otherwise handles it pretty okay
Hornet has trypophobia cannonically
I mean, it's what the entry says
She's distrubed by its simplicity
🔥
Yeah me too
It's scary as hell
It sucks you in
Why
And this thing is just pure insanity
And I'd be too, if a flying creature the size of my head that's essentially an elastic bag with holes worked by clamping at my upper half and slowly diggesting me
Borderline trypophobia inducing
The funny part is that they used to not be void
Imagine one of those carnivorous plants that's just a vat of acid, but it's human-sized, flies, and there's no plant
Oh yeah, they vomited poison or something
They're almost like a.. plant?
Yeah, purple particles
Wasn't that in the release trailer? Did they cut it last moment
Also other bugs used to bleed purple when hit too, so.. it could've been its own blood.. 💀
Oh ko
No
No the release trailer
Maybe they just didn't want us to catch on to the fact that the clip was in the abyss
Oh
Or maybe the abyss wasn't planned yet, it would have been easier to just not place any abyss monster anyways
A cut area that used to be there instead of Bilewater
They said that hornet going to the abyss was their plan from the start
But TC decided that it's not good enough and blessed us with this masterpiece of an area
And they made the game with that goal in mind
Oh, then I stand corrected
Bilewater is overhated
The music is great
Deepnest was worse
Deepnest was worse off of visibility alone
Agreed, I literally sweeped through it on my second playthrough without a map, even though I don't remember the area too well
Also the tram area was terrifying the first time I went
And it was disgusting
Bilewater is a swamp, yet it is less disgusting
It has these grotesque enemies that are ONLY seen there
I think it's ocerhated even more
Cause I've never felt scared or disguised there
The tram area was more because of the lore surrounding it
Workers cannibalized by the bugs around you
Unlike the.. waterwastes.. 💀💀💀
Deepnest disgust is what I feel with irl insects
Flukes were the most disgusting bug of HK by a long shot
The worst area out of both games imo
I literally feel physical disgust
Screaming constantly in the waterways and running at you in some berserk rage
Like the first time I explored it, no joke, I was TERRIFIED
I felt more pity for the broodmother than for flukemarm
Samee
It's at least funny
Broodmother has a blast
Honestly I might be weird, but I really love both the Slab and the big fly enemiea
And the small ones from the Broodmother arena too
The small ones are just cute imo
Also why do we get to speak with an orphan child that's the only still neutral member of their species right after we make them an orphan in BOTH games
And the big ones have a cool design
I like how goofy they act
Who was the one from HK?
Me too
Fluke hermit
Fluke Hermit
I don't like the skinny ones, they're just less goofy and more annoying ahahaha
That I have to give it to the flukes, she was way less weird than the one we got
Ohh right
She's chill
What I didn't really like about her is that she doesn't really give too much lore
I wonder if we get to meet them in DLCs
Ahahahha
What if they become a better and bigger Broodmother
I swear to god if Hornet saves Pharloom just for the Stilkin and the Slabflies to take over she will have serious regrets about not embracing the void
my boy!

Regarding the new upcoming DLC, it is obvious that Sea of Sorrow is related and possibly connected to Greymoor. We’ve seen something that resemble a scythe (which is obviously a reference to the reaper crest). And the covered body just further seal the deal
The way her eyes glow and how she stands looks like the avatar's eyes and some cover art I saw so we are actually getting an anime by team cherry called "hollow knight: The Last Silkbender"
the DLC will likely focus mainly on the cut area The pharloom bay, right outside of bilewater
Also it will most likely include travelling through the sea and visiting islands, as we see the boat sprite again, and the lab which was one of the islands from the files
there's a small area to the right of the bilewater weavernest that has fresh water. I'm willing to bet my left testicle that it'll be an entrance to the pharloom bay
Aight bro 🤔😭
I’m excited about lifeblood lore nuke because of how horrifying it’s shown to be
What is this stuff? What exactly does it do?
I’m gonna need to alter my AU to adjust for this plot point… I might need to make patch notes when it comes out if my interpretation of what happens when lifeblood parasitizes a fresher corpse conflicts with canon lore
(My AU is a lifeblood zombie hornet AU. Fun torment, I need to draw it more)
I’m excited to see if we’re gonna get more of Zango but like actually good… Lifeblood is horrifying and I love came back wrong as a trope
Like, more of Zango Zango or more lifeblood enemies/bosses?
Lifeblood bosses. Zango is living proof of concept for what I think is a very angsty concept. Shakra’s master is awfully close to Pharloom Bay… would be a shame if the lifeblood from the bay spilled over and we had to put her back to rest in a cool bossfight (potentially with Shakra helping)
Woah, that would be a peak idea, but...
I don't think she is actually that close to lifeblood
…lifeblood is known to spread virulently. It’s not impossible
Perhaps unlocking the bay and doing the DLC quest chains accidentally unleashes something terrible
Wait is Pharloom on an island? I was… sorely mistaken about the map
My version of the map put Pharloom on the coast of the other side of a mountain range 💀
Anyway I love a good eldritch thing at sea
Epic, wait a second why is this shit technologicsl
Probably the entrance will be to the right of greymoor somehow tied to verdania
We don't know, but in game files the zone is called "The lab" so is most likely the lab of zylotol's master
Could be, could be... kaybe his lab was overrun when he went ont he field trip
Spoiler tag in case someone doesn't wanna see the beta map?
Tragically too alte
Sick as shittt
I am silking my song vigorously
Ooh, never thought of that, but probably not, I think is more of in "The coast" or maybe this "Sea" is like a lake? Is hard to say because in far fields bottom we see there is a sand path that goes out of pharloom
wait they updated hollow knight???
The lab collapsed and the sea is mixed with lifeblood !
Wait, really?
Puddle of sorrows
Reaper Crest upgrade confirmed?
widescreen support!
YEEEEES
They made zote easier wtf
Lol
dithering support
Iirc acerola fixed the color banding team cherry doesn't know how to fix
They should get in touch or smth
Act 4, Lifebloood
Mfw salubra shuts up at max soul now
Holy shit seven million purchases! SO FAR
Plus millions on gamepass
Oh, new chinese translation
splendid (I don't speak chinese)
You think it will be as hated as SK Chinese?
someone put the possible entrances on the map #sk-lore message
one in below is where shakra sells the bilewater map
does the line "Plasmium was discovered by my master at the farthest edge of Pharloom, hidden deep in salt-stricken waters" mean that silksong:sea of sorrow will take place in a plasmium lake?
i think that only says plasmium was in the lake, not that the lake was composed of plasmium
So lifeblood spire/the lab looks to be in an island so is probably that, it's surrounded by salt waters
we eating very good ever since the release, there was barely enough time to digest it
What kind of islands do you think we will find in sea of Sorrows?
i hope we also see Shakra's tribe
I mean like
Lifeblood islands?
Or coral islands idk
Cant think of a place where they can fit coral towers
There is confirmed to be one lifeblood island, but I suppose there will be more variety of islands, supposing the game files aren't just decoration while we travel to the lifeblood spire
Yuh
Oh what do the game files have I'm an unaware idiot
It all depends on how they will want to treat the sea itself, presenting procedurally further destination from Pharloom in succession or if they manage to make it a massive enclosed space somehow
looks cool af and will hopefully give us one answer and three other questions lol
There will be a secret ending related to going high on plasmium
you can bet on it
i hope we see more in Sea of Sorrows DLC than Pharloom Bay, i hope we meet Steel Assasin Sharpe
possibly underwater area
I don't have hopes for another ending until a "Godhome" dlc
that would be fun
me and a friend of mine gaslighted another into believing there was a secret water-based act 4 and it may actually come true haha
I would like to point out that the center of the cage is awfully similar to the symbol above the pantheon's doors, but that is just pure speculation
i mean it wouldn't be far fetched to have another ending if they add another act, something has to happen to Void Haunted Pharloom, aftermath DLC would be interesting, especially with Plasmium in mix
i mean it really isn't far fetched to have something similar, especially since abyss creature invaded godhome
but still that's speculation, but it is all we can do at the moment
and it is fun
I mean, we can say with some cautious optimism that there WILL BE a Godhome equivalent
The question rn is if it is related to Plasmium
interesting idea, people were thinking it would be related to memories, but plasmium seems possible enough tbh
since Godhome took place in dream realm and Plasmium has heavy connection to dreams, it would be great if they connect Song to Essence with some tool, maybe another elegy, since that would be cool not to do, and absence of essence is boring
Also, I have hopes that we can expect this to arrive within the established timeframe:
I believe TC has learned by now how to estimate the duration of their work, and if they have some unfinished things they wanted to publish they can always put them in the next dlc
and we don't get needolin dialogue of many characters, which makes needolin similar to Dream Nail(without Awakening/Essence)
Act 4. Lifeblood
That gives me an idea.
Elegy of the Rise.
By using needoling + clawline hornet will start singing while charging silk around, after that she will rise into a "Dream section"
I TOLD YALL WE WOULD GET PHARLOOM BAY DLC
I TOLD YALL
Mfs said no we won't its cut content
many of us have said it, myself included
Alot of people said no
Canonically accurate Rudo attitude
😭
What is hornet's kill count?
Hornet doesn't have a "kill count" in the traditional sense
I KNEW TOO
Why the fuck are you stalking me
That's not stalking mate
||I find Embrace the void more canon to silksong than dream no more because during act 3 ending, we see the shade lord and also THK's shade is not present which it should have been if the ending that took place in HK was dream no more.
We see Shade lord only briefly, a small flash, that can be explained by the fact that the vessels are no longer in Hallownest, thus out of godseekers radius, thus unable to maintain the form they acquired by resonating with the godseekers||
You can talk without spoiler tags here
There is no explanation for Shade lord being present if the ending that took place was dream no more
the vessels being present can still happen if embrace the void took place due to that explanation
@sturdy coral
The thing about dream no more that I do like is that it does parallel silksongs act 3 ending
I would have thought of dream no more because even tho the shade lord is not explicitly seen during the radiance kill, the void being present means it can take the form of the shade lord during act 3 ending, but yeah your argument makes sense
Dream no more: Hornet wakes up, looks around to see the Knights broken mask, another one lost to the abyss.
Sister of the void: Hornet wakes up, looks around to see lace completely fine, "this one the void shall not take"(lost lace journal entry)
I have a disadvantage here cuz i rarely play silksong, but whatever
I wouldn't say that the knight was lost to the abyss, but rather he unified it, as stated in voidheart charm. It wouldn't be reasonable for the knight to be lost to something it can unite and now control, thus allowing it's appearance in act 3
The way I see it, and I may be slightly romanticizing it, thats not what being lost to the abyss means
The Vessels are not pure, none of them are pure, they all have thoughts and feeling, heavily diluted maybe, but they still feel.
The mere fact that they were used as pawns to defeat this godly infection is in itself being lost to the abyss.
These bugs should have never been treated that way, these bugs deserved 'normal' lives, like Hornet has her life.
I don't see The Knight becoming some godly god eating entity as a 'good' fate.
And PK also died to the abyss(Heavily implied than confirmed but still)
So I LOVE
Hornets journal entry about Lost Lace
entire family lost to the abyss, so she will not allow lace or the entire kingdom of pharloom to suffer a similar fate
That is really cool
But also, it may not be a good fate to become a godly god eating entity but it's the vessel's main goal to destroy the godly infection in itself. So becoming an entity that destroys the enemy is simply obeying the mission given
Dream no more vs Embrace the void for me is just "This is so thematically peak fiction oh my goodness I am gonna cry vs This makes more sense"
Even after they beat the infection, they would have no more thought and purpose, so it would be an aimless life until they die
Lol
That's said a billion times before, but that flash is more of a reference than anything. The truth is there's no canon ending between DNM and ETV.
Technically we don't even know if the Void Given Focus is permanent, which would make it impossible to manifest as Void Given Form
it's clearly intended it to be ambiguous so either way so eh
I agree that no ending is canon to silksong out of those two, was only explaining why I believe ETV makes more sense to me.
As for the flash being a reference, I don't like such explanations in any form of fiction really,
It's been malefactor constructed so that it could be either one
sea of sorrows looks similar thematically to godseeker in waterways, and plasmium as well
Gods of Thunder and Gods or Rain in land of storms will be interesting, maybe it will take place outside Pharloom clearly, and we see both storm and rain
if something is so clearly shown to us then just playing it off as reference is something I find harsh.
But I am also one who believes everything has a reason and analyzes everything
personally i am hopefull
All theorists in a nutshell
Also W explanation
oh wait cook
I completely forgor about the gods of thunder and rain
YES
Your cooking
theory: the lifeblood tower will have a little room with a God secret locked inside just like how the life blood creature was locked inside a room in God home
well it is speculation but it looks generic but also thematically similar, Team Cherry has hidden somethings before
i guess people will be rightfully skeptical of this, i personally hoped for Moss Druid and Wisp Thicket closure, but that's okay
I just find the idea very funny of like a God seeker being trapped in a little cage in a lifeblood area as an inverse of how it was between the two in hollow knight
(also I think maybe it's likely the life blood creature only got into God home because a God seeker got infected with life blood)
Well, if you want a deeper, less meta explanation then it can be attributed to VGFocus being the ultimate form the knight can adopt, it is the final expression of the Void Heart, and the power it commands, while VGForm is the shape it has right now, its shade
I really don't think godseekers will be involved in the DLC
they had unique relationship in godhome to say least, it didn't get dedicated godhome room, but lifeblood room was unlocked by completing bindings which is weird and very isolated incident that requires explanation
Whats the difference? Doesnt VGFocus and VGForm have the same power?
I think we'll get it
vgfocus is shade lord
vgform is The Knight with tendrils
Its shade?
that's fair, they did die most likely but i think Land of Storms can be expanded and we might get closure, plus Godseeker's Memory where we get weathered mask looks identical it nameless village where we descend to pharloom, area is very eerily similar, not that far fetched to imagine
Not really, Focus just kills the Radiance by itself, it doesn't send her to the void to wither away, it just tears her open and obliterates her. Form, while still very capable of subduing her, can't quite reach that level of power
but i respect all opinions regarding this given how little information we have
It's funny how technically the first ending could be canon to Silksong is you just beat GMS
but Team Cherry is really hard at work, aren't they, they might address things loremasters were frustrated by
I didn't find it that similar to begin with, most basic regions in Hollow Knight are quite similar anyways.
Also I don't remember the dialogue about the gods of rain and gods of thunder but didn't they abandon the seekers? Or they were proven weak or something?
Oh form is seen in dNM Ending rite
I also found the architecture of that building much closer to the Citadel than to Godhome
Oh we are gonna get our answers
and then we also get 30 other mysteries which we can be mad about
I believe the seekers were abandoned yes
Yeah, DNM shows Void Given Form, EtV shows Void Given Focus
well, godhome does have architect similar to Citadel. Could just be coincidence but hm..........................
ehe
Wait what if godhome was just the godseeker's memory of pharloom's citadel
We also have hot springs in Citadel...
they look structurally identical, but seeker's being abandoned is not why we are excited though, we are excited by fact that we might get information, but if they are false gods, i think they might be similar to powerwise to Old Hearts
I didn't find it that similar outside that it's gilded
there are bound to be differences tbh
Actually we have hot springs in hallownest too what am I even saying
Maybe the godseekers are from the pharloomz citadel and godhome is just how they remember it?
Wait do silksong hot springs also regenerate silk
Ok i feel stupid that is more than a stretch
Seekers are from land of storm and rain, so no,
Yes
Unless you wanna stretch and say that pre gms and pre khan nyleth etc, pharloom was the land of storm and rain
They have soul or something, I dunno
Thats what im tryna say, they have similar architecture
Prob have soul
even air has soul in it
I mean the citadel
lands of storm is likely at edges of pharloom, given pharloom bay and Godseeker's seemingly avoided Citadel/Pharloom and travelled via nameless village
The citadel was built when GMS was around
GMS and no other gods
Do we know that the godseekers crossed pharloom
Again, they barely have any similarities other than being gilded
eh the judges have a similar head shape thing
Where are you getting this from
Hallownest? did you mean Pharloom?
Yeah pharloom
Nameless Village being similar to where we found weathered mask
Thats just what the surface looks like imo
Every single basic location looks the same
i am not claiming it is fact btw
actually, if it was at the edges of Pharloom bay then would they have not heard of GMS, and want to resonate with her?
The entrance to Hallownest looks similar as well
A barren wasteland of nothingness
And dust and rock
i mean they are morphed the same, where we descend is where godseeker's head is
Surely gms isn't so bad that even the godseekers didn't want her
True
I still can't bring myself to believe in this theory
Do we have proof that the godseekers ever crossed pharloom?
i meant tuner memory not weathered mask memory i got it mixed up, but both memories do look distinct despite being both in wastes presumably, however, Tuner memory looks morphologically identical to part of Nameless village where we descend
but it is still speculation
Godtuner and seeker are seperate entities?
Isn't godtuner a item from which godseeker used to detect gods
Im dumb. I forgot that
tuner is a tool
they don't need it anymore
they can detect gods without it at the time of HK
so they gave it to the Knight
or moreso the Knight picked it up and they were like "sure ig"
they didn't need their compass. They had already arrived at their destination. oh
Not like they could do anything, even if they protested, they recognize the knight as God of Gods so they cant really fight him lol
What are the actual borders of Pharloom? like if Pharloom was an actual political entity, which regions do you think wouldn't be a part of it?
at what time?
The only ones I can think of are Hunter's March, Sands of Karak, and Bilewater
The Abyss
Coral and verdania at some point in time
The time right before the Haunting
Hunters march too
Oh yeah Verdania definetly
I don't think they ever considered Verdania part of their kingdom
right before the haunting as in before gms went to sleep?
everything is part of pharloom by that point except the abyss
No like before she began controlling bugs
I guess it could also count as the present in some way
Yall, since zote's sword is made up of shellwood, which is seen in silksong, do we have evidence that at some point in time, pharloom thought of perfect soldiers after seeing what hallownest was attempting, and made zote?
I'd guess Blasted Steps was annexed from the Karakans after they were either defeated or when their river dried up
No.
Unfortunate
The Karakans were actually goated....Only lost when their lifeforce died.
Gms is a Khann victim you can't tell me otherwise....
looks too similar in my opinion
anyone agree?
It does, could be coincidental
well yeah but I don't think that's indicative of anything since the wastes often look similar
Crazy enough I actually fw the idea that Zote is the son of Greyroot
The grey motif, his weapon being made out of Shellwood, his dislike of mothers, all are reasons... also, if Pharloom Bay goes east enough to connect to the western edge of Hallownest, Zote could've literally travelled by boat... like Zoteboat
looks similar but this is only instance of phisically same structure
I have not played silksong in a while so i apologize lol
shape is exact same
A Khann victim? I'm pretty sure her Kingdom wiped the floor with them
Then they drained their river just for opulence
Anyone here fowards silksong?
Do you think PK knew of Gms
Herra probably explained to him when she asked for a child from him
Herrah didn't want hornet to be forced to usurp GMS though, she literally told her that in red memory
Both were pale beings so of course, same way I know all the mixed people in the world.
to choose her own destiny and stuff
He might've been able to detect another Pale Being and the Weavers likely gave him some vague idea, but I doubt that it was important to him since she wasn't exactly going to war with another Pale Being
Oh yeah, actually looking closer. It is the exact same rock structure. I wonder if this is just an asset reuse or if it's meant to be the literal same
I think the surface just looks similar lmao. Wastelands aren't exactly known for being the most diverse areas
I consider it more of a post birth thing that happened
Like a bit sensitive side of things but
carrying a child is a very intimate thing and especially mothers who were not keen on having children really change their mind after giving birth, seen many times irl
becoming unconditional lovers for their child
Sea
Of
Sorrow
SOS
Tc is warning us expect 3 mask damage
Considering we have 10 masks I can't even say this is wrong
Do yall think the hollow knight update is gonna address the retcons
All bosses are now radiant and steel soul
Can they give us overcharming
for the radiant eqv fights
just let us have one extra tool of any kind
overlapped
pwease
I doubt it. Most I could see is a tweak to Weaver's Den and the Distant Village and that's about it
next to each other
thank you
It could just be a reused asset but that’s unlikely
Herrah redesign maybe?
Tc said they would like a godhome style boss rush so this connection is still very possible
exactly, thank god i had receipts
28% chance it's reused asset with no significance
I would've preferred one that didn't have the dialogue prompt visible for hornets though
</3
I really don't think that'd happen since she's already baked into the games art
sorry, i tried, but one video was made about it though
Herrah doesn't need a redesign
I wonder why they gave her one then
Ehhh she looks just wayyy unlike a weaver, most likely TC didn't intend to make her a weaver in HK and changed their mind in SK
I would certainly appreciate a bit more Deepnest lore in any DLC since it's still a pretty cryptic area
Can somebody explain to me how to haunting works pls
having children is hard for weavers
giving birth irl also does take a toll on the mothers.
That explains why she looks like that
Be more specific, please
Sort of a loaded question

Just overal
Like what it is cuz im new to the game
yeah probably
But her appearance can still reasonably be explained so I don't believe a retcon is needed
how new? Because this place is super spoiler zone.
You will play ze bug game and be happy
Spoilers
This is the spoiler discussion zone
A lifeblood guy and probably some sort of sea boss, like a sea slug or maybe even a cephalopod
its ok just not spoilers about game play pls
I thought it was only visual changes
some silk god from the sky is throwing silk down into bugs brains and mind controlling them
play more and you find out more.
Ok thnks
They said features so there could be some stuff
W
Please address the retcons
I think they've revealed basically everything (Grey Prince Zote's stagger was changed iirc)
I unfortunately don't see how it could
She's way too removed
Unless the dlc takes place after act 3
(I don't think it will tbh)
It definitely won't
That's mr mushroom
Act 3 is the last act, with the exception of maybe a Godmaster DLC
Yeah plasmium doesn't seem significant enough to be post - act 3
Honestly I don't see how they could fit an act 4 in the game lore wise, it wouldn't make sense for hornet to stick around after pharloom got saved
She gets jumped by the steel assassins
I am ready to play a legit visual novel just give me Lace
For void crimes
Steel city seems big enough to be it's on game honestly, I do think we'll see SOME steel city related stuff tho
