I completely understand and sympathise, the last thing we want is for a large handful of players not able to connect while half their group is possibly already connection, but it's literally all on Steams end, we cannot do anything to bypass this or allow players to connect, all we can do is make Facepunch aware and wait for the issue to be resolved, usually a while after wipe things do stabalise and players are able to connect as usual.

Definitely not, this is because you are pushed through the queue with VIP and therefore once you get to the connection stage you then experience the Steam auth timeout issue, this would be the same without VIP once you eventually got through the queue.

That's correct, in the queue you have no issue as you are not connecting to the server yet, once you buy VIP the system processes this and skips you, you then experience the Steam issue as are you are then connecting to the server. This would be the same for a player in a queue when they eventually get through, it just seems more immediate for you as you are now skipping the queue.

It doesn't affect all servers, players, or even regions equally. Just a couple weeks back, this issue happened with the entire EU region. A lot of it has to do with connection requests, and obviously our servers have a lot of people trying to join at the same time. When every player is joining it is sending Steam Auth requests to Steam, and Steam has recently (a couple months ago) throttled those connections. Facepunch has tried to work with them to resolve the issue, but obviously the issue has not been completely resolved.

Most likely something on your pc blocking the Easy Anti-Cheat service. Third-Party anti-virus can be the cause of it, so disabling that if you got it could help. But I would recommend verifying your game files and see if that fixes it
