While I understand that the resources used by the 2x & 3x servers don't impact others and that adding more servers isn't an issue, I believe it's still important to consider the overall player experience. According to Battle Metrics, the population on these servers tends to drop off significantly shortly after a wipe, so the claim of a "decent population" may not be entirely accurate.
Perhaps this indicates that while there is initial interest, the long-term appeal might be lacking. Instead of maintaining servers that see a sharp decline in activity, it could be more beneficial to explore ways to sustain player engagement or repurpose the servers for something that generates consistent interest.
For example, instead of sticking with weekly wipes, switching to a bi-weekly or even monthly wipe cycle could help retain player interest for a longer period. Monthly or bi-weekly servers on modded have shown success, as they allow players more time to progress and invest in the game without feeling like all their work will be reset so quickly.
A 2x monthly server would give players the opportunity to build up more advanced bases, explore deeper content, and engage in more meaningful PvP and raid experiences. With weekly wipes, the urgency to accomplish everything in a short timeframe can lead to burnout, whereas a longer wipe cycle offers a better balance of progression and competition. This change could attract players who prefer a more sustained experience without having to constantly start over every few days.
Additionally, a bi-weekly or monthly wipe schedule might create a more stable and consistent player base, as it appeals to those who don't have the time to commit to playing intensively in such short cycles. Players could enjoy a more relaxed pace while still experiencing the benefits of a 2x server.
