well honestly, i just now figured that out so i might not be the best person to ask but, what i did was i kinda just doodled a shape for the chest, and made sure to make it not perfectly vertical, then i drew a line of motion, which i like to think of as the "spine" of the pose, i then added a shape for the hips, for women hips are larger or equal to the shoulders, for men they are smaller than the shoulders. after i had a line of motion and two shapes to show me where to put the chest and hips i just kinda screwed around with wierd and not exactly natural but still possible ways to move the body

i liked putting one leg supporting the weight and the other leg somewhat up off the ground

another tip is that when you are drawing a character from a front or back view, i try to make the line of the shoulders intersect with the line of the hips, i can doodle an example

a thing i think would be helpful to think about is distribution of weight, as when people stand, we tend to rest our weight on mainly one leg, especially women, normally that weight going onto one leg changes the way the hip is tilted and that creates this type of intersection i was talking about

exagerating this, like models do when they pose, you can make the shoulders tilt the opposite direction, to create a really dynamic, and not straight or rigid pose

ooh legs are tough for me

i've been trying a few different things recently but one thing i notice for myself, is that i always make the thighs too big. Idk if that's a common mistake or not, but legs tend to be a weak point in my drawings. I like to exagerate the curve of calves from side views, irl i don't think they indent nearly as much. i think the best thing you can do for learning not just poses but anatomy is to look at eneough references that you can pick and chose parts of references from memory to use in your pieces

in terms of proportions, i'm not sure if there's an exact science to it, but i tend to make the legs pretty long, if i drew a boy without the head or neck i'd say i tend to divide the body into thirds, one third being the torso and hips, one being the thighs, and the last being the claves and feet. then i add a neck and head and it seems pretty proportionate to me
