I could care less about the morals of using ai. I think an artist is someone who enjoys putting pen to canvas and creates something out of their own will and knowledge. I couldn't imagine sitting at a computer hours at a time genuinely enjoying putting prompts in until you get something almost right or just accepting the result when as an artist can make those changes without difficulty and have the power to project your complete vision in your way.

In my personal opinion, the people promote ai art (generative ai) because it’s easy and has good enough results. The reason artists hate generative bots it’s because it takes away some of the joy and key concepts of art. Art is often created for the purpose of self expression, leisure, and showcase of effort, not just to look good. With AI, it’s as simple as putting in a prompt that will have a few tiny hiccups. While it looks fine, it removes the good part, the process. Additionally, many people like artists for consistency and style. While generative bots can mimic styles, they can’t do things consistently to that of a real artist. It’s not so much about the fact it’s “visually better” but that it isn’t art, it’s a randomly generated image.

Just look at it like this, if you play basketball with some sort of advanced tech (idfk) that lets the ball be thrown automatically into the hoop, you aren’t a basketball player, you’re just a person who plays basketball without effort (which gets old pretty fast) weird analogy but I hope it works
