🎨 ART CHANNELS 🎨
Q: What’s the difference between #art and #verified-art?
#art is for all users, whether you're here to practice, share or talk about your art freely without needing the artist role. #verified-art is for users who have obtained the artist role, people who've spent a while mastering their craft & have also met the requirements for the role itself.
 **POSTING ART**
Q: What level do I have to be to post in #art?
You must be level 5 to post in #art.
Q: What is considered art and how do I know if I can post it?
Art includes drawings (digital or paper), sketches, sculptures, paintings, pieces of writing (if kept within 5 lines to avoid textwalling), and music. We will not accept anything that shows your face such as plays, films, or dances. This is to protect your safety and maintain your privacy. (refer to rule 2.4) Using a character generator or any kind of "automated art" as anything but reference or a base will give you a verbal warning. You must state that state that it is an automatically generated character.
Q: Do I have to credit any references I use / how do I credit?
You must credit any references used. This includes if you are posting someone else’s art completely. Make sure to attach the original artwork. If the reference is from a discord user, include their discord tag (eg. Wumpus#0001). If it’s from an online/famous artist make sure to include their full name or whatever they go by. Note: If you post art that isn’t yours and you do not credit the original artist, you will be muted, warned and blacklisted from the art channels.
. 🖌️ ARTIST ROLE 🖌️
Q: How do I get the “Artist” role?
You must be level 10+ & have already of been frequently active in the art channel previously - In order to apply, DM one of the art mods asking to be verified, then they will send you a specific and detailed topic and/or theme to draw off based on your art style. You only have to create 1 piece of art for the application.
Q: What perks does the artist role give you?
The role is simply for the purpose of those being able to post more freely and show off their art in #verified-art. Likewise, it also gives you a special colour so that you can stand out in the server. (The colour cannot be changed).
No, it does not give you file permissions in any other channel than #verified-art and no, it does not separate you on the member list.
Q: Do I keep the role even if I stop posting my art?
As we are aware that many of you have priorities outside of discord, we give you a 30 day period between each post to keep the role. If you do not post in over 30 days the role will be taken off you. You may obtain it once again if you become active. Note: Art moderators reserve the right to confiscate the role and ask you to go through the process again at their own discretion.

Q: Who can participate in the art contests?
Anyone can participate, regardless of the artist role or level.
Q: How do the art contests work?
Our art contests vary in the way they run so the rules for them will be explained in each individual competition. However we can guarantee that there will always be a theme, a time limit, and a prize.
Q: What do I get if I win an art contest?
Usually the prize is $10 nitro but sometimes it varies (eg. 1 month donator, steam game under $20 etc). The prize will be clearly stated in each contest however to avoid confusion.
Q: When do the art contests occur?
There is no specific date to which an art contest is held but we try to construct them as regularly as possible.

Q: How do I report a misuse of the art channels/stolen art or any post that goes against the rules or Discord ToS?
We highly encourage you to report any misuse/stolen art with #report-a-user. Doing so can really help us make Memeology a safer and more positive place for everyone.
Q: Can I report someone for disrespecting / making fun of my art?
Yes of course! We absolutely do not tolerate disrespect of any kind. We want to make you feel encouraged and congratulate you on your artistic skills. Any disrespect will be muted, warned and potentially blacklisted from posting art (mod discretion). Please use #report-a-user if you receive any sort of negative comment regarding your art.

Stealing art is prohibited, doing so will result in a mute & warn + you being blacklisted from ever obtaining the artist role

Hi everyone! As of now, "AI generated art" is now banned in #art & #verified-art
This is due to a few reasons, one being the excess amount of it being posted in #art, overshadowing work that actual artists put their time and effort into.
And the other is that we do not consider it a form of art at all, the art channel is to express your talent, not show off prompts you had an AI create for you. 
For the next month, any AI art posted will receive a verbal warn, do it again and its a mute. After the month ends verbal warnings will no longer be given out, due to the fact you all should and I hope to be aware of this new rule by the end of the month.
