Apoc--> it's very good. The pose, shape, the hair everything is well drawn. The effects in the background is amazing. I love how it changes colour too. It's very creative of you. I also liked the detailed colouring and the light on her clothes from her magic.

Apoc, fluff it, its really well done the pose is nailed down and the colours are amazing plus there's a animated version, I will say though It could use a bit more colour on the main robe as its all one colour pallet but that could just be me

wat can I say? this is absolutely amazing. the character is well drawn and the colours pop out a lot. You definitely put a lot of work into this with all of your different renditions of the character, and it definitely paid off. There's little in terms of technique that I would even be qualified to criticize; however, it's my personal opinion that the half exposed half covered leg design is a tad bit awkward. Either way, great artwork.

Ok so plague doctor mage is peeps and I'd say its good but The theme clashes with the whole plague doctor appearance other wise there's some good smoke art and I love the staff

Peep: your design is very nice and I like the concept but, due to the different mediums you both use it doesn't look at detailed as Apocs but I still like it. The background could use more detail and more attention than what you gave the character but when the character could use more detail. At some points the line went wobbly and over lapped each other.

 Ok so red has a good thing going with the character, but tbh the background could use some more time, and the shading for the background is allover the place but the character himself is well done and has the angle parts showing

the attention to detail is great! The character looks very lively and fluid but also very stiff, the hands are a bit too big for the angel itself and the arms. There could have been more detail on the face itself but either way it's very good, I'm not too good on backgrounds myself but I think yours is beautiful and I really love yours all in all my vote goes to you.

It is very good. I liked the background but i think its a little too much/complicated. And the angle, it is well drawn and detailed.

I love your artwork. The facial expression, the texture, and the energetic vibe of the entire piece is very nice. I can definitely see your style pop out in this, and I'm a huge fan of it. I do however have to say that the background does complicate the artwork a little bit. there is so much going on with the clouds that it makes it difficult to focus on the angel itself at times. If you had coloured it, this problem likely would have been solved. However, it's a little bit overwhelming in black and white. I know you were on a time limit though, so that's understandable. It's not incredibly creative, but it fits the theme well and that's really all that I care about.

Sky--> The pig is kinda cute tbh . If i remember correctly in the rules it said "be creative" and i liked how it was a pig with wings. The pig was well made and the colouring is good. There could be more in the background but it is still good. cough the tail and the small wings are damn cute cough

Sky: this is so cute. I think that this little piggy angel looks great. However, even though it could be considered as creative, I simply don't feel like this fits the theme as well as red's. The only thing that indicates that it has anything to do with an angel is a tiny wing. Also what is the line in the background? is that the indication of a cloud? if so consider making the top half the color of the sky or give the cloud some shading so we can tell. Overall, it looks great, but I would like to see the pig have more characteristics that relate it to the theme of an angel apart from just a baby wing. idk if this was creativity or just avoiding drawing a human angel, but hey at least it's cute.

Sip: I love your dedication that you put into your art work, colouring with gel pen is hard. Though I wouldn't recommend it if you want a cleaner artwork since it looks a bit sketchy right now. sips, I know you were roasting yourself about this artwork earlier, but it's actually really cool! The gel pens give it a unique style that I don't feel like I've quite seen anywhere else. The space theme is awesome and your character designs are amazing. I can read the personalities just from the character designs, and that's great. I would suggest that you pay a little bit more attention towards perspective though. That bottom strip that the purple girl is standing on almost looks separated from the rest of artwork because the lines simply ignore the perspective set by the stair case. Gud stuff.

The colouring could be better but I'm not a big fan of colouring myself so what can I say, the hair looks messy and the random thick lines aren’t a good look on the hair it seems as if you rushed it.

The mermaid itself looks natural and I like the colors that you used. I would however have to agree with Luna regarding the hair though. I think you chose to add those streaks of color just out of compliance with the color scheme or to give her a more exotic look. However, it does seem a tad bit sloppy and I wonder if it would have looked better without them or if they were done more naturally. Also is it just me or does it seem like there are too many bubbles around her (honestly probably just me)?

Ok so it took an hour or two but celeste's piece looks really goo but the background could use some work and there could be some shading is some spots but other than that It's pretty good also Are those bubble's or eyes?

Bahri: though I’m not fairly good at drawing humans, or anything lmao Bahri could use some more work on building the human part of the mermaid. And the face... it could use some more work my tip is to not use the generic anime face and try to ad more detail than black dots with white shine on it. For faces dont use the 'uwu' face, it's just weird. The background is very well done I will give you that but the main drawing itself could use a lot more work than what it looks like you gave it

Bahri: I like that you built the environment around the mermaid. Overall, it looks quite nice. However, it’s clear that you didn’t plan out your drawing. The mermaid's head is cut off by the paper, and in terms of composition, that’s not what you want for your subject. Also, since you did a background, you should go through with it since the single cloud is just awkward. There is room for improvement in terms of anatomy, and your transition point between human and fish is separated abruptly by a solid line. Consider the flow of a design to keep it from looking stiff.

Bahri definitely need to get more practice with body's and drawing faces, the shading needs some improving and the water's color and overall texture is some what lack luster, overall they need a little extra time doing the hair/face but other than that it was a good attempt

Bahri--> his mermaid could be better especially the tail part. The texture of the sea could be better but otherwise i liked it. I also liked how he added a little smug looking octopus there. Overall i think both of them did very good but Celeste did better.

The people actually look like they fit the theme and the minimal detail you put into the water but making it actually look like there is alot of detail in there I really love it

Sips: Wow. What a phenomenal interpretation of the prompt. The colors and the body language instantly set a thoroughly miserable tone. There's a lot of lines going on with the water and with the clouds, but everything seems to work out to an extent. The desperate drowning, the blank look of resignation, the feeling of strange separation even when surrounded by others; everything comes together to form a very sad piece. However, the sense of depth does feel falsely established. The girl sobbing on the right appears too large for her position while girls on the similar plane as her (like the far left small one) are drastically different in size. one of my hardest decisions as a judge so far: red gets my vote. sips art is an amazing address to the theme, but I can't ignore some gaps in technique. This could definitely go either way

Red: This artwork is super cool. I just can't seem to get enough of your art style. Very iconic and very expressive. Everything is drawn quite well and the colors pop out a lot. U can tell from the boys face that he's been through a lot. Definitely a good take on this theme; however, I have to agree that while the color choice is pleasing, it does not accomplish the purposes of conveying misery quite as well.

Apoc: Such a beautiful scene. that little pocket just seems to carry with it a dreamy and loving atmosphere. A great representation of a father daughter moment amplified by their body language. Having the image as a moving animation also puts the cherry on top and helps it come even more alive. Great response to the prompt and a great entry in general. I have one suggestion rather than criticism: maybe you should remove the animated heart? it draws a lot of attention and in my personal opinion the goal of a drawing is to elicit an emotion even without something as explicit as a heart. I think you did a good enough job to where it would be amplified if you didn't have the heart.

Celeste: A similar idea to apoc's, but a great one nontheless. The colors are much brighter and I also get a feeling of great affection from the artwork. The sky however could use some work. The sky would never transition so abruptly from blue to white. I feel like you were afraid of letting the blue start mixing in with the character's bodies, and I get that. Even still, the sky looks unnatural and uncomplete.

Celeste: like I said before you and apoc had the same idea, the idea with a parent and their child does resemble precious very well because it tells the story of a loving parent and how their child means everything to them. Though I do feel like apoc showed this theme better i still adore yours and how soft and cute it looks the head sizes and shapes are a bit off and also the feet along with the faces but either way i love yours and The way you colored it

the phobia I'm guessing you chose is Dentophobia the fear of dentists or dental care. I feel like you portrayed this well seeing as what's happening in the picture can be a cause for a phobia considering PTSD people. Your shading and colouring is beautiful though the head seems to be a bit off and the eyes are very big and almost seem to be bulging out of their sockets. But I still love this drawing and you portrayed this phobia and theme very well

I agree with Luna in that is interesting to see you drawing in a way that deviates from your usual style, and it looks quite nice. you used some good hatching on some parts for shading and your combination of pens and markers brings with it an interesting kind of texture like in the background that turns out looking quite unique at least as it appears on camera. I also like how it looks like the dentist is almost walking out of the shadow of the background. The dentist is deathly pale and his downwards gaze paired with the blood does a good job at setting the mood. However, the left hand looks a little bit off to me and he appears to be gripping the tool in a strange way (correct me if this is just how they do it).

i really like how you changed your style to fit the theme better, i like the choice of phobia too, it really shows how a person with Dentophobia sees it. The black and white colours are really fitting and the splash of red to show the blood and fear is really good. I just think the colours are basic the black and white but then again, it really does fit.

I still admire how you take the time to make gifs. The aura gives off definitely says "fear" or just something scary. The phobia I think you chose is Entomophobia- phobia for bugs or insects, the way you decided to portray this is amazing but I feel like you could have done something more with the face because it just looks like you took a Halloween decoration and filled it with bugs. As always your shading and colouring is amazing. Though some area’s seem like just patches of different colours slapped onto each other without any proper blending

Phobia is a tricky topic to illustrate same with judging since it's something that is quite subjective and varies in impact based on the viewer. Either way, it's quite jarring. Your artwork has some interesting lighting and as always, I appreciate you making a gif. Especially for bugs, that was a good decision. What I really like is how you were able to creatively blend the bugs in by making the centipedes eyebrows and having the other small bugs only be a subtle addition to the face. That somewhat satisfying when they all go scattering away. However, while I understand the lack of colour, it is a tad bit boring to me because of it. Maybe some more grim or dirt like texture would have made it more interesting and immersive.

I like how the insects are hidden in plain sight with the centipede as the eyebrow. This concept of phobia is really good i think Apoc really nailed the theme. the colours again are really good the gradient with black to white is really good

Apoc has cleaver design and like I think I know the phobia he's following but its also very odd in my eye's, despite this I'm loving the animation's and stuff he's making and it reminds me of those old cartoons wtf moments so it's a pretty good piece

Celeste: though this is a black and white picture since you used mostly graphite I love the bit of colour you added to it since it gives a bit of something to the drawing, you portrayed the theme very well and I love the outfits you gave them because like the eyes it gives more for people to look at and enjoy

 Celeste- I lime the style, it reminds me of Aristocats, and I like how they are anthropomorphic cats, and they are refined. I also like the slight colour she added to the eyes, makes it stand out.

celeste- i liked the colouring on the outfits and the way you drew the hands. the outfits have really good details, but the ears and facial fluff looked a bit off.

zSsky: the concept of the idea it's okay to me but it doesn’t really fit the theme of cats. The proportions are off and the shading seems inconsistent and dull and there isn’t much contrast between what the shading and the actual drawing itself

Shadow z
Ssky- I like this one a lot too. The shading and style (cat girl) comes off as sweet to me, and its the minute details that make this one stand out, such at the cross necklace, the curls in her hair, the stars in the background, it really conveys a sense of affection toward this character.

zSsky- the style and character are both really cute, and i, again, like the colouring. the anatomy is pretty spot on, but the concept and drawing itself are a bit basic.

zSsky - I think that sky’s design is very nice, the concept and idea of it is good and well represents the theme cats, although I feel the proportions are a bit off with the head in terms of the body and the shading seems almost kind of dull, there’s not a lot of contrast. Overall I do like it.

Zsky's= well I should have seen a neko coming, its done quite well though is hard to see without zooming in and god forbit having my glasses on, but from what I see there is good detail in it.

 Angel has more detail in the background, and foreground and just seems to appeal more to the eye, at least to me. I've never see the movie, and idk if this is what its baser off it, but the feminine touch to it is bee nice.

plague: the anatomy is very on point, and the design of that big momma is great. the big tower in the background along with the sky are very pretty. my only confusion is why they would give the big momma hair if she's a robot.

As for wild cards, I like the idea that the Iron Giant is a robot and is scanning the human, and although the human is small there is detail even put into the clothing on him, and that says a lot to me.

wildcard: i like the robot's design, along with the light it's blaring onto the person on the cliff (not sure if it's like a scanner or like an abduction thing). however, the rest of the drawing in terms of background and details are lacking.

Sips - I like her piece, it resembles mythology but it wouldn't remind me of mythology when i first look at it.

Shadow
The art by Sip stands out to me in a lot of ways. First she depicts the rivalry of Set and Horus at the forefront, and not only that but has the animal heads, not human heads. Not only that, but she has Isis and Hathor, looking on in what lools lile concern. And the last detail that sticks out to me is not only Osiris in the background, but Ra in sun form. I love this piece, but I am always partial to Egyptian myth :)

White shark - I like it, I can see how it resembles mythology and the design, and colours are nice, I like how the character is holding the younger one, but I don't understand what myth that has came from.

I have no idea who this angel is, or even if its an angel, but I love it. The way be so selfishly protects this woman shows his compassion and love without even having movement. The way the wings are folded, the way he wraps his arms around the woman's body, and the way she looms as if she enjoys being almost coddled in this way says a lot about the picture. A great showing indeed.

shrek (THIS IS REALLY WEIRD TO TYPE FJJFBFJ): i like the whole color palette, along with the shading. i love the big wings and how they're drawn. the piece shows a lot of emotion and story behind it. this may just be me, but the meaning behind the story isn't completely clear, but i don't know if it's just a mythology thing i don't know about.

Skill 4/5 Theme 3/5 Overall look 5/5 I am going to assume overall look means the completeness of the piece. So with that being said, red's style is leagues above everyone else's. Not really a comparison to be honest. What he lacks however, is not visuals, but representation. His piece is good, even though it doesn't capture the full idea of soulmate. It still gives you the feeling of betrayal. Something that can only happen to people who are already close. He however makes up for his piece in big ways with his style. The skill to make a digital comic look like a comic, is impressive. And thats coming from me. Still I see areas where he lacked some depth and didnt go all out. Particularly on the guy without a mask. So that is the reason he doesnt get a full 5/5.

Red- I also enjoy this art style. Its almost crude, and I like the connection you give these two, with one genuinely into the relationship, while the other sees only a means to an end. I would like it to be longer though.

While plague has been shown to display excellent character renders, I feel like comics gave her a rough time. Since the characters (outside of the hair color ) was hard to identify. Making it harder to tell who is who. Despite this, I do enjoy the twist on the story of soulmates being rival killers. An excellent twist that can be a lengthy surprise to a good story. But sadly, due to the complexity of such a twist. 4 pages doesn't do it justice. So despite being a good idea, since it wasnt flushed out as good as it could of been, the overall look or completeness is a 4/5. This also doubles with the fact, that I personally dont feel like it fits the idea of "Soulmate" . Even though I give it a 4/5 on theme, having more connection with the characters instead of feeling like they were strangers ( thats what I got from it ). would of bumped it to 5. but alas, I Have to give a a 4/5 for now

1- ok Elizas piece is a neko which isn't considered universally cute and if its ThAt type of cute she is looking for its incorrect. (lucky for her i have a neko fetish)
2- the lighting could have been better but it draws out the depth in the art like it should. aside from that the composition isnt off so its ok.
3- overall her artwork is very well done she just hasnt exactly followed the theme of cute or except thats my opinion(even tho i find nekos cute) they are used for different reasons

1- duke has followed the overall theme and pokemon i think was a decent choice
2- even though he followed the theme well there are some issues as i'm not really getting a cute vibe from the photo although Pokemon are cute the most important thing in an artwork is the feel and in my opinion zooming it out that far and almost making some of the Pokemon look angry doesn't accomplish that.
3- overall he's followed the theme but the execution was incorrect. his drawings of the Pokemon are very well drawn but seem almost basic and couldv'e used a bit more punch.

Shadow. For the man, the myth, the cultist -Great pic overall. The Pokemon is such a good idea, and using their stage one forms, like Ralts, Gible, etc., where they are, in fact their cutest was a impeccable idea. Kudos to you.

hanako's: the anatomy is Really throwing me off. like the sun gods thumbs and the proportions if their bodies that make them seem cherubic/young? if that was intentional, my bad. the drawing was difficult to understand though. if it werent for certain colors appearing brightly here and there and the lack of contrast,, it would make for a nice neutral piece. but the two combined throw it off. that said,, i really enjoy the idea of massive celestial giants protecting the earth in a strange mythical universe and detail work.

I like what you have going on here. The flowers and the colors in the back r pretty and there’s a beauty in the way u loosely inked it. This is great as a semi blind contour drawing; however, I feel like you handicapped yourself by making it semi blind. While drawing blind contours is a helpful exercise, it’s a risky move when competing against those not limited in that sense.

Kuromi: this is beautiful. i love the blinded lineart, the saturated, yet airy watercolor (good choice of medium), and the gentler flowers in the background atop a splash of green. very pretty

Bahri:
The issue here is that i cant really deduce the art out. the water colours definitely showed a plant tho so ill give them that. I feel like it could do a little bit of refining

This really captures the theme of floral. I like the style of how you drew the flowers. I like the light coloring. And I find it awesome that it is a hand colored art, it shows that you really put effort into it, not to say digital artist don’t put effort in their art, I am just saying that hand painted/drawn/ colored pieces have just a bit more effort than digital.

I haven’t seen promised neverland, so I don’t really understand the reference; however, it looks really cool and is drawn in a uniquely flat style. It’s simplistic and visually appealing. The only thing I would say is that the hand looks a little bit off, but I like it overall.

Kuromi:
gorgeous. i live for this interesting, dark style, and the interesting yet simplistic way you draw. the flowers are especially beaitiful. fingers on the right hand (his right) are a bit awkward, and i wish you had included just a bit of emotion (like eyebrow marks, or smile lines, etc) so we had a better grasp on the story w/o knowing that piece of media.

Creep:
I find this drawing pretty awesome, but I do wish he wrote more context instead of just referring a comic/anime/movie/tv show idk. I like the character design, I think it’s a skeleton, and the color palate is great too! But I think it doesn’t have much to do with floral other than the flowers he is holding.

I love the way that u painted these crystals. The colors r beautiful and the shading and texture is convincing. The body is also looking pretty good. The facelessness might be part of the story, but I’m a little confused as to why there is no hint of a face on the person.

Kuromi:
well first off this is beautiful. i can see that a lot of micro work went into it. shading and anatomy are chefs kiss. crystals are absolutely gorgeous and simultaneously very realistic yet fit in with the rest of the drawing. i love this transformation as their spine bursts with glowing crystals, and the size difference in the two. just two things i think you could improve with,, but dont necessarily dock points: the feet and plot. the feet are quite big,, but some people just have big feet. and with the plot,, id like to see maybe a bit of reason for this happening or where its going? like other glowing, crystal fixtures in the bkg as if some people just turn into crystals and come to this field to "die".

with a theme called crystals I would have thought people may have made a beautiful scene with it but this is way different, the crystal looks amazing as well as the character

has a lot of detail in the crystals and focuses on them 1p. he also has got the lighting of the crystals really well done with the reflection 1p. over all its done nicely

I think this is an epic piece of art, but I think it needs some kind of context, just my opinion. Green crystal is c h i l l overall, awesome, but a little bland.

I like the texturing that the crystals make in the way out of the body and the way it appears the weight of the crystals is making the person hunch over. Quite a nice touch indeed. The art is quick and to the point. Solid.

Wow I really like your character design, caeli! The character looks really cool and I like that you were able to apply that to this theme. I still love it, but I think a bit more contrast in the background from features like her hair would help things stand out. I also like the crystal aspect of this, but some of them look a little bit off and jellow-ish like the green one on the left.

Kuromi:
this is so beautiful, wow what a great category. her anatomy, the design, the shading and color scheme are all A+. the background is breathtaking with the smoky, crystaline beauty happing there. the foreground crystals are varied and well shaded. the hands, though, are confusing on how theyre shaded. if it was intended for them to be lit so harshly from above, then the crystals should glow and the hands be tinted. if not,, they just dont match her face.

Spookie:
very interesting way of going about this theme, the character looks really good and the background is nice though bright but thats just me, the idea of it being an ability of a character was a nice touch

Caeli has focus on crystal 1p. the crystals arent done as well as ION. but its overall good.

First, color palate is nice and light but nice! Second, I love the OC! And her power suits her. I like the background and crystals, especially the blue sims crystals. Overall, noice.

I like that you went for a more original approach with this. The concept and general design of this character is pretty cool. A few tweaks in perspective here and there could help out too tho. The character looks pretty flat, and even tho I like where you are going, it’s missing a bit of that pow factor.

Kuromi:
it appears to me as unfinished. the lines are too light and sketchy in some places,, theres not much contrast to distinguish one part from the other, and i wish you'd used lineless paper. aside from that i do find this design fascinating and full of personality and an aura of a story id like to understand. no clue who was just shot but i feel bad for em lol

I like the design, it reminds me of an old game or sonic, theres a good bit of detail, Though it does fall short without color, but I understand cause its on paper and not digital

Looks pretty sick. It seems like there’s a lot of scribbling going on in the right leg and I would personally contrast values more to make parts like the face be more distinct (take watever I say with a grain of salt, let yourself decide cuz im no specialist lol). The transformer is executed well and has a cool design. The background is stylistic and has interesting color choice.

Kuromi:
gorgeous design. wonderful shades and highlights, i like his stern, menacing personality and the pop of color and textureoo for the background. despite the bgk clearly not being an atmosphere, he sits into it like he lives there. this is technically very nice but i feel like there could be more: creatively

Derrick:
The art definitely does a good job at responding the the theme. However, there’s room for improvement for the character. I feel like u were trying to draw it in perspective but the arm is simply to big and the legs r too small. The background also looks washed out, but that may just be a limitation in medium.

Kuromi:
love the lyrical refrence ;0. that aside i wish that the eyes on the side of the light and the bottom edge of the stage were shaded (or given a yellow halo if you'd've wanted a glowy effect). aside from that,, i love everything about this. the pose, her sass, the design, the shadowed hands and scarily attentive eyes. the theme is quite obvious and your intent is clear. now im not sure if this somewhat negative/dark feel was intentional,, but her outfit being nearly the only splash of color with her entirely solitary on a pure white stage gives off a haunting vibe. if it was your intent,, comgrats. if not,, a lil lackluster.

Spookie:
clears throat whoa mama, yeah I see it fitting the theme and I like how creepy the hands are, the eyes also work for that as well, the over all design works very well

Pretty good, I like the theme.

Shadow:
I love the girl in red and how you used to colour to represent seductiveness, it reminds me of “the girl in red from” The Matrix. All also the the eyes thing is a very clever reference to the song and very creative of you to include. Additionally the hands reaching for the woman signifies her appeal which I also like. A solid piece overall.

Derrick:
Fits the prompt? Check. Overall I think this is done pretty well. I’m not a huge fan of how the hair looks, as it doesnt seem to fit in with the rest of the work. However, the pose is pretty good and i actually really like how you blocked in some of the values. Nice work!

Kuromi:
i understood what the floating hands meant without you explaining. i like this very much. the disembodied hands lending no personality or distinction to those touching him lend very much to your narrative. as well as the ball&chain, ribbons and goggles(?). i like this. the anatomy of hands and shading are very well done and your piece in general appears very polished. this is genuinely gorgeous, the only downsides are the head bow and background. the bow seems very out of place, like a sticker on his head; and the background doesnt suit the piece very well. its not technically bad, but to put hin in a room would be chefs kiss purrfection. a basic wall and floor would do nice behind him, but no points off for that.

Spookie:
I like the notes they gave, it does help with the judging, the message they covay is clear, it does look really good and it does makes alot of sense with what they drew

Ahem so to start with, your description and the fact you decided to include one tells a lot about you as an artist (that goes for you opponent too), and the body structure is so good. The hands are a great addition too. Tiff said she thinks it’s a bit too lusty but I think it’s a more apt depiction of lust and the things it’ll make us do.
