You can pinch it back together afterword. And it stays on. But that’s the rub they’ll stay on until the batteries die or you put the plastic tab back in.

The real fix would be to add a discrete button that can be poked from the outside. If I have time between jobs tomorrow I’ll take a look at doing that.
