yeah but im just saying i dont need him to albert einstein
as well as holy and powerful
2 qualities are enough
for making him a good hero
Luthor can still compete with Superman due to his intelligence and always gives him a good fight. At the end, the villain always tends to lose anyways due to plot.
w/e my complaints to movie was not that he was not smart enough
In the case of Superman in Red Son he still was insanely intelligent, he actually beat Lex in chess, read books on heart attacks in seconds after Stalin collapsed and has tried to handle the government in a semi competent way he knew how while making it a big brother state. The reason why Lex “wins” is mainly because Lex’s sentence was a jab at Superman’s forgotten purpose straying away as a result of his fixation on defeating Lex.
New Gods also die, Orion received a bullet that travels backwards in time.
I don’t think all intelligence and all powerful equates to dull story. While this is an easier character, J’onn J’onzz is one of my favorite guys, while he’s insanely powerful, he’s vulnerable to PTSD of seeing his Martian race die in engulfing flames whenever he’s on fire. His character as a whole is pretty interesting being the last of his species in a human society. Also Martian Manhunter is underrated.
Guys side note: they finished filming Lanterns, it’s coming out early 2026!
a complete set of qualities like:
- ultimate power
- ultimate knowledge
- ultimate morals
make for a really boring protagonist
as a reader or a viewer i know they that they are just right no matter what
gunn superman is very powerful and posseses divine ethical standards (well at least intentions wise)
Isn’t that kind of a defining trait of Superman? There are many iterations of the character but isn’t that the most iconic?

yeah
im just saying
i dont wanna see
omnipotent superman on top of it
Luther being a smarter person (objectively) but having poor moral standards
makes for a great villian
Luther is like the best part of the movie in fact
Absolutely agree, having Superman extreme iq would feel a little boring.
Superman isn’t really omnipotent. He’s very powerful and Godlike, but no omnipotent.
