@sharp bronze To expand on the truncated explain I gave. The elif I showed is controlling a process we want to run only one version of. If the string has leading/trailing double quotes, remove them. Same for single quotes.

However, if the string has LT single quotes nested in LT double quotes we only want to do the process once, not twice.

Hence the tests to ensure the logic works:
(fail is two if statements, pass is if/elif)
