i was wondering how python parses its mathetical expressions

like 21 + (45/5)

ive been trying to parse similar expressions

in rust

so far ive made it parse expressions with decimal point numbers and the four operators

what sort of algorithm does this use?

you could look at the algorithm described in the dragon book, there is also a talk on the PEG parser. Though if you want to parse math, it is easier to use shunting yard
