I've heard it praised a lot so I kinda had high expectations. And it certainly was quite beautiful and such. But I read the book and I watched two other adaptions, so maybe I wasn't blown away as much as I could've been if it was all new to me, dunno.

So we have whole thin notebooks with that paper. In Polish it's called "trzy linie" (3 lines) because you're fitting your text between a pattern of 3 lines
And afaik they're usually half a cm wide.
Normal lined paper is 1cm wide. (So your tops like b and t, and bottom ends like in y or p might touch, you gotta squish it a bit)
And checkered paper is again half a cm. So they pretty much align and you write similarly in those.

There are also similar papers but with added diagonal lines for Cyrillic cursive, because they focus on it being slanted.
Most languages that use Latin script nowadays don't tend to rely on "cursive" specifically (a fancy handwriting with more rules about shape of letters and connecting them) but general legible easy handwriting. My mum uses actual cursive, but my generation wasn't taught it, we just had general letter learning and then each person's handwriting evolved on its own... one of the questions I ask when interviewing junior devs is "what's a class? when would you use a class or objects instead of some other tool, like a function?"

all I want to hear is something about state, or related functionality, or about using the type system, etc. the vast, vast majority of candidates cannot give anythign close to a satisfying answer.

if it's a language with lambda or first-order functions, I'll often ask a question about higher-order functions, for example I'll give them an example of a currying function and ask them just to explain what it does. they don't need to know the term curry, or antyhing else, I just need them to say something that highlights that functions are also values that can be treated like any other value

in python I'l ask about *args and **kwargs, and I'm erally just looking for "varargs and un-declared keyword arguments"

All of those questions usually get entirely whiffed by candidates

Same like searching/using the Google search engine.
people may even get adverse results if they dont know exactly what to look for.

Claude AI for example, usually burns a lot of "cpu time" whenever it can - especially when it comes to coding stuff. a way to circumvent this, is to have it "plan"/explain what it's going to do — and only then, after having a draft, should it begin implementing it in code.

*I heard the paid versions do offer a lot; though I still stick to the free plans.

Sometimes it requires a bit more knowledge than just making "prompts" up; like setting up agents, context files, etc.

25th and 26th in tight families (like my partner's) are more like normal holidays - family dinner (in this case often with more/different guests than 24th), not fasting. Both days often with different people - e.g. this year one day will be my partner's sib hosting and they always invite their in-laws (their spouse's parents and sometimes siblings as well), the other day is at my partner's parents. (We're hosting the 24th)
