Asdfghj my Internet is shitty... My mobile Internet is shitty...
I log in to the router to find out that at some point my partner disabled one WAN and kept the LTE only, and later forgot to enable the second WAN - and the LTE WAN is currently same carrier as my mobile, that's why both are shitty. 🤦

#

(Router load balances the two WANs normally and when one fails, it switches.. But it couldn't switch because the other WAN was manually disabled... I think I know when we did that)

#

Btw "I know when we did that", is there a list of discord-owned ips somewhere?
Because our voice/video calls are shitty and our guess is that the router load balances the different connections that the call consists of to different WANs (because disabling one WAN fixes it).

I'd want to add a rule for all discord connections to use one WAN only instead of load balancing. (We already have one such rule for gov-owned websites because the redirects in login are between different domains on different servers).

I wonder how google measures user satisfaction in their youtube A/B tests
do they measure changes/reductions in watch time? (even though for a significant amount of people there is no other alternative?)
or how often users turn the new feature off? (some new features can't be disabled even in the A/B phase, or come with compromises when disabled)
or how loudly people complain in comments and social media?

#

youtube now translates titles to the user's language automatically. it's not consistent and it can't be disabled
also in limited testing are their crappy auto generated translated dubs that's enabled by default on videos that support it

CSS rules contain declarations, which in turn are composed of properties and values.
Each property used in CSS has a value type that describes what kind of values it is allowed to have.
In this lesson, we will take a look at some of the most frequently used value types, what they are, and how they work.

In information retrieval, Okapi BM25 (BM is an abbreviation of best matching) is a ranking function used by search engines to estimate the relevance of documents to a given search query. It is based on the probabilistic retrieval framework developed in the 1970s and 1980s by Stephen E. Robertson, Karen Spärck Jones, and others.

sick nexus
#

Like to get an audio stream from some program as a mic?

civic pasture
#

yup

sick nexus
#

I'm not aware of any Discord-specific feature for this, but generally I think you'd do that by implementing a virtual device which behaves as a microphone in general

#

Any microphone "device" should work natively with any program that wants to use a microphone. So Discord probably don't bother because the system for audio devices kind of already does this

#

I know for sure it works with the virtual camera feature of OBS, for example.

#

I think there are some programs for mapping audio devices this way as well, if you don't want to DIY it. But I can't speak to their quality
